there are technically 2 slim and lights. The PSP slim and light was the first remake, which you see here, also known as the 2000. The 3000 is just another remake again, which has next to no difference apart from a few things. The 3000 model has a built in microphone and a more colour vibrant screen. I might have missed a few things, but that's the basic gist of it. And then you have the PSP Go which you want to steer clear of!

I actually prefer first PSP better then the slim, although some feather... well 2 features I like from the slim, which is the loading time and video output. Other then that it feels the same as the PS3 controller, DS3 and none DuoShock PS3 controller. I like the heavy weight of it.

I like the original PSP better, the slim is slightly faster, but for the most part it feels cheaply made, kind of like a Mcdonalds toy. It may be slimmer and lighter but the original PSP has more room for hardware mods and such. They forgot to mention the lower battery life, if you want the same battery life as the original PSP you have to put the original PSP battery in it and buy a new cover for it since the slim battery is smaller and crappier.

I have both the slim and phat, I love the phat because it has a much more confortable grip and it doesnt feel all oily and what not, however faster loading times and skype are pluses for the slim.
