I don't understand what he's doing. My music teacher told me to to push the peg into the scroll while turning it away from you. But, since i'm weak and can't handle the metal string's strength, it snapped and whipped me in my fingers...
He could at least have added that with tuning the pegs you have to force the pegs into the head, otherwise the pegs will turn back again because of the pressure the strings give.
the first time I ever tuned on my own I popped the C string. I was so pissed. I had no help. I turned the peg once and it was way too loose. So I turned it opposite and it got tight but wouldn't hold. Would shoot right back to loose like I had rubber bands instead of metal strings. So instead i tightened more to see if it will reach a point where it would hold and it just snapped. Got it fixed for free but jeez.. (This vid didn't help, but its appreciated)
that helped me so much

When tuning a cello, you have to push the pegs in while turning it.

When you tune the cello do you play doubloe stop or just one string?
RoseDeathly 2 years ago
you can do it either way but starting off i would say just use one string

To all his Critics - Please be quiet. What this guy and others like him are doing is
invaluable to me. If you have something better that is great I would like to see it. Until then....
Thanks :-)

dakilla254 3 years ago 4
Slowly, gradually, and pushing inwards. You may also want to check the positioning of the bridge.
