It's just friction - the glass rubbing against the wall causes a lot of friction which is strong enough to hold up the bottle for a while. The Smirnoff bottle we used in this video stayed in place for about half an hour before we heard it smash from the other room.
Pretty much. The wrapper's insignificant - it works purely by friction. Just push the bottle against the wall, and then pull it upwards hard. It'll go stiff after a few inches, so stop. Let go of it slowly - it should stay in place. Bear in mind it'll leave a mark on the wall so don't try it in your parents' living room!
There's another trick where you can get a bottle to stick to a wall using just one face - search that if you want a really impressive trick.
yay for friction and the and oh its this simple my uncal showed me how to do it u take a emty beer bottle or any glass bottle with a wraper logo thingy on it and rub the wraper thingy into the corner of the wall and that will cause the wraper thing to peel and the adhesev that keeps it there makes the bottle stick to the wall =) oh but one warning it can ruin the paint on the wall so have fun and please drink un responsebly just kidding or maby not ill never tell >=)
