  • I think most people who are mad, are afraid of innovation, and are mad just because a better tool comes along that is cutting edge, losers, I think they all need to grow up! :-)

  • awesome pedal \m/

  • sounds like someone falling down stairs!trade your set in for a drum machine queer!

  • @644stretch hahahahaha!

  • is the left foot suppose to be his snare or something? lol

  • @AutumnAwakening According to the Duallist website, the beater operated by the left pedal is supposed to 'punctuate' (quote) notes. I think that what he is doing.

  • Interesting video, but some of the beats using all 3 beaters sound more like a cattle stampede than a beat.

  • @Diamondblade2008 Yeah....Bad audio and sloppy attack, I never planned on it getting noticed which is the ONLY reason its still up...

  • @ventsintheedge Lol im not saying you are a bad drummer, I think you are pretty good after watching your other videos. I still like your Duallist video though!

  • @ventsintheedge Ive been playing since 2yrs of age im 26 now. I'd show your dualing weiner up anyday. Stay true to the fundamentals of real drumming.

  • @rockstarrken you are all talk...

  • One word CHEATER.

  • @rockstarrken Whatever, you can"t even play or you would have some video showing us that you abide by the rules right?

  • Wow, I even think double bass can be a little over-board, but this.. I wonder who'll make the first quadruple pedal.

  • This really sucks more than i thought it would...nothing i cant do with my 80 dollar pacific pedal. Why would i want to spend 600 dollars for this.? I guess thats just my opinion. Good luck with this waste of money.

  • @dpierce321 I cant wait to see any drum videos you ever do...

  • @ventsintheedge Just as soon as i get my camera.

  • doesn't each beater make a different sound?

    I mean,.

they're totally not on the same side as the main beater..

so they must produce a different sound,, each of them beaters..

  • @MargaretsLight Yes,they do.That is one of the more challenging things to deal with, good question...

  • ithink the only "skill" with this pedal is the control of the first bounce´s beatter, and the mental skill for the rithms and aptterns, but thats nothing imposbile to do with the double pedal, the skill in double it´s harder couse you do with one foot what we do with one, even with feet, and don´t say enything about guitarrist´s plugins, we are drummers¡¡¡¡ PROUD DRUMMERS!!!!!

just use the FX console in concert for a better perfomance xD

that´s wath i think, i´m not sooo rich xD

  • You guys are dumb, it is MUCH harder to play a tripple pedal than a double. IT TAKES MORE SKILL, so the people saying "cheaters" or "no skill involved" really never tried one, it is a whole new beast that takes monthes of getting used to

  • @FlyingGypsyDrummer u do realize that theres a techique that does what the triple pedal does. its called the heel toe techique. if u know this u dont need this pedal. if anything it gets in the way. that being said. im guessing ur some shitty drummer that cant do that and spend 600 bux on this load of crap. theres no reason u should have this pedal if ur a great drummmer. u probabaly got this cause u suck so bad and ur tired of it so u got a 600 dollar pedal to make up for it?

    am i right?

  • @ringostarrkicksass Big words for not having any drum videos...

  • @ventsintheedge i dont have to proof anything to u, ur a white prick that plays fag music. and i saw ur video of ur favorite cover. it was the gayest thing ive ever seen. u make bob george look straight. small word from a small man. very small.......

  • @ventsintheedge idc, i dont have to proof anything to u im good at drums. i know that and thats all that matters. and by the way i saw ur video of ur favorite drum cover, it was pathetic. it made boy george look straight. men like u should die so u can stop polluting the world with ur genes. and im guessing u have this pedal since uve been looking at this video for almost a year. ur a shitty hardly talented musician if u need this pedal for that music. good bye and may god have mercy on ur soul

  • @ringostarrkicksass Your all talk...

  • Wow, 600 dollars to do shit i can already do WAY cleaner on my 150 dollar pedal. i'd rather get Axis long boards. man honestly if you spent as much time just playing with a double pedal as you are fuckin with these you'd be killin it and double pedal sound way smother.

  • @MyHauntedExcursions you cant or you would have

  • duallist is for pussy guys:P

  • So thats why you take an intrest...

  • @varelabatera03 yur a troll

  • What would you know about real musicians?

  • I know that they all take prozac!

  • I do not even think that is you playing. It looks like the legs are fake and being operated by some kind of motor control.

  • That would be cheating...

  • as soon as I see you do those patterns with those footings on a double pedal Ill print that shirt...

  • Also, the ONLY reason I leave this video up is because all the hate mail gets a lot of hits so thank you who ever you are...

  • Well like Ive said before, I dont use them live because they are not heavy enough to gig with and because it does not work as well as a normal double pedal for normal music for normal people. I used a dw9000 in all my other videos. This video was the first time I played it,and the reason I like it is because it opens up the chance to do hi hat work with the flammed doubles. If I would have done something cool with that then all the no video talkers like you would give it a chance...

  • The FRA rules say that as of 2010 three beaters are legal in the US...

  • @ventsintheedge Well, that is why I'm heading to Washington to fight this. Triple pedals should be against the law. Just like headers for a muscle car, they should not sell them in California.

  • Go ahead trouble maker...The Queen of England OKed it so Obama will too!

  • Take some aspirin you cheater!Quad pedals are for CHEATERS!The Federal Rhythm Agency Rules and Regulations Handbook (revision .5) says so,so get off my back!

  • What the heck is this? That thing gives me a headache! It does not compare to my quad pedal, at least in my imagination.

  • Wow, Dave...I never knew there was such a thing as a tripple pedal. Not being a drummer myself would explain my lack of knowledge about a lot of stuff relating to drums though...HAHAHA. That's a very intriguing set-up. I'll bet it really smokes when you really start kicking out the jams on the rest of the kit too.

  • ^^ awesome..

i guess people will accept the triple pedal when the quadrupel pedal comes out.

just like they're still crapping about the double pedal.. personally i will never buy a triple cuz i think its pretty hard playing it. so i stick with a single or dual.. but if u can handle it.. keep on the good work :D

  • Thanks dude...

  • i really like the way you used the pedal. it wasnt like most people use it. they usually use it to try to play faster or do triplets easier but that was tight using it to accent the notes and such. impressive :)

  • Thanks dude...I am glad you get the idea.

  • nice playing man.

  • this is very helpfull!thanks

  • crap drummer

  • You don't even play...

  • how do you know ? you a mindreader?

  • People who talk and throw out insults but don't have anything to show usually don't...

  • ok shithead have you made any records no course you havent cos you cheat with easy to play pedals try using a ludwig speed king single pedal you dumb ass

  • who said this was an easy pedal?

it's people like you who make me mad

lets see you get this pedal and play like this

this pedal is for people who want a faster bass

in the end, will the audience care if you use a single bass pedal? or a double/triple bass pedal? or will the audience only care about how the music sounds.

  • how old are you? i was playing drums before you were born go fuck yourself

  • See what I mean...That was the first time I had even tried that pedal out.I play a dw 9000 double on my gigs which I've been doing for 25 years and I've been on over 30 records...Jesus loves you!

  • im old enough to know my stuff. you apparently don't. and you didn't answer my question. does it matter how easy the pedal is to use? or how the song turns out? if you didn't answer my question, i am obviously right. covering that up with curses won't change anything.

  • zlalaman2,thanks for stepping up...Ill answer you,it's not easier ,just different.I wanted it for melodic possabllity not speed.I don't understand why none of the other triple pedal videos out there don't get trash talked like this one does, but I do thank all of you for the 40,000 + hits!

  • isn't it easier to do heel-toe though?

and yeah, i don't understand it either

  • mr.ventsintheedge sir,its just awesome,ya its not that its unique but cmon it doesnt really matter if nobody really uses it as long as we are havin a good time with it ryt?about the insults, nahhh nevermind them, they cant play it anyways coz they know they just cant

  • i tihnk this is sucks.

    double is ok but triple?

thats when u know u suck.

just learn double strokes with ur foot

i think this is for crappy untalented musicians. sry just had to put it out there

  • guitarist put shit on loops all the time, is that for crappy people? pianist speed up shit all the time, (techno) is that for crappy musicians? you are a faggot sir.

    welcome to youtube

  • Techno is for queers like you

  • who said i like techno fucker

  • Comment removed

  • how can you have ringo starr in your name and talk about good drumming? just a question...

  • that's awesome

  • LMAO is that a skull i see on top of the mallet?

  • Yes,it is.I hope you can take my word for it that I was being a smart ass...

  • lol thats funny but awesome lol your good so you can have whatever you would like on your drums

  • Dude, for what's it's worth, i don't care what's used or how how it used, as long as the end result sounds good. have you up'd a vid of any sessions with the triple in use?

  • I had one up but I looked so stupid in it I took it down...

  • coool ive actually seen these in the Musician's Friend mag on sale but ive never even heard or seen one in action till now. cool

  • me neither

  • gay drummer!!!! wahahahahahaha!!!

  • No,I like women...Just not ones like you.

  • it doesn't sound cleanly, it´s like and echo...

  • you can do most patterns with 2 pedals, 3 looks like your cheating..looks rediculous.

  • How does one cheat at drumming? For one, its music - all that matters is producing the desired result, there's no such thing as cheating. Secondly, its not a fucking contest dude.

  • Well, here's the deal. Would you fight somebody who had three arms? pretty fucked up that would be wouldn't it? It's kinda the same thing. The cheating comes in to play when your foot is doing 16th or even 32nd notes while the other foot is just accenting beats. now this is not hard to do, due to the fact that when you lift your foot, a bass note is struck, and then again when pressed down WHICH LEAVES NO EFFORT TO STRUGGLE AGAINST STUDDERING(an uneven double bass sound) it is a seamless-

  • perfect (and synthetic) doable bass pattern, without even trying.

Now..what will happen, because the other foot is not getting the balance and control conditioning of the other foot, the drummer becomes lazy, and reliant on the triple pedal, because it's EASIER.. ergo cheating. who wants to sit there (especially if your playing something complicated) worry about switching a lever just to achieve doable bass? If you train both feet the same (with accent drills for both feet) as well as timing-

  • - strength and balance..you can achieve the SAME sound with two pedals, and it will sound better, and you will be more impressive looking. Believe me, it's not just me who thinks these triple ( and quadro? lol) pedals look fucking ridiculous.

I respect your oppinion though, this is just mine, so please do the same.

BTW nice drum vids, love the sound of your snare, is it a piccalo?

    cheers

  • how exactly does the triple pedal work?

  • there two beaters on one side, like a double bass pedal, you have it set for the second beater to hit when the first comes up, then when you use the other pedal, it makes the third beater hit.

  • Now why would you want a triple pedal? It must be a cover up for your hands

  • If you watch my other videos you'll see it does not...4JC?

  • thanks for tour answer. another question, is it simple to switch between singel and double mode? is it easy to make a mistake and activate it when you dont mean to. i would like to pedal bridge with my right leg without it switcing unnessecery. and everyone, seriously, drumming is not a competition, this will never be aloud in WFD, so who the fuck cares if he uses it, music is not a competition.

  • Nice...The switching is smooth and easy, even if you do switch it on,it only makes a double beat if you TRY to and it only takes a light heal stroke to turn it off...

  • cool man, thx. ill be buying one later then!

  • FWI:dont hit the bass with both pedals at once messes up the head.

  • wow all those beats sound like sliptknots last cd

  • I hear ton of bands, old and new that could use a triple pedal, easy.

Blackened by metallica is a great example, and some of there other things. Its only overkill if you make it overkill.

  • Right on...

  • put a blanket in your bass drum

  • what's the point.. no one uses these

  • I do

  • the triple? i could see the single pedal that doubles up as useful, but this seems like overkill that most drummers would not use... but if you can pull it off, props to you!

  • what could possibly come out of using this pedal is that drummers who use it may not have to work as hard as they would have without it and will in the end be less rounded musicians..but really now cheating? thats ludicrous, are you suggesting that drummers using this pedal are not ultimately in control of the sound that the drum makes? And I reckon its very difficult to prevent the sound from going muddy.I'd like to see what it can do in a song though and how fast one could get using it

  • That's a fair comment.

  • triggers are sweet.........the duallist pedals are stupid

  • I found this video after me mate mentioned this pedal and personally i enjoyed watchin it. I just thought id leave a comment cos all the people givin you abuse and callin you a cheat and shit pissed me off. Theres no way to cheat at music, its up to your own interpretation,i just love it how people who have probably never even tried it reckon theyre right and know everything. Keep up the good work dude, i hope it goes well for you. BTW i imagine polyrhythms are quite fun on that! :D

  • Thank you...and yes,odd/hybrid rhythms are this pedals strong point.

  • your bass drum sounds like shit.

and you're a dirty cheat for using this shitty pedal.

  • Jesus loves you...

  • brilliant!!

  • i dont agree that its "cheating"...take off the slave and get a two bass drum system going...one on each drum...if ur already fast with ur feet imagine the amount of double kick could be added to fast metal

  • uhhm. then double pedals and hihat clutches are cheating too. your a fucken moron.

  • your bass drum sounds like shit, or maybe its just the camera

  • It's the camera and the compression of the video, but your right it sounds shitty...

  • his 3rd beater looks like its a skull. hahahhahah.

  • It is!I broke the one that came with the pedal so I was being a smart ass...

  • hahaha that pretty badass. lol

  • lmfao

    thats sweet

  • i am seriously considering buying one of these pedals in the near future, but i have heard that that dual thing starts to lag once you hit high speeds, is this true? what is the top speed you can push these with out them missing a beat or flaming?

  • I am not a speed guy,but I can tell you that the cleaner you play it the better it sounds.I find it harder to do things on it at a slow tempo if that helps you.

  • looks like fun. parts of it sound pretty kewl too.

  • My argument:

I'm fairly confident drummers are the ones commenting on this video, I'm also pretty sure you all know of Neil Peart. In his latest solo, "Der Trommler" if you pay close attention he has electric drum pads, which when hit trigger the sound of not one, but TWO hits on a tom. Is that considered cheating, or using technology to your advantage to do something innovative.

  • Good point...

  • Cheating obviously, this isn't about an auto or manual gearbox, is about playing drums, letting a machine or computer program do part of the job is not playing, it's like attaching a robotic arm to one's torso and "play" with three arms, or adding motors to the wrists = cheating.

  • First of all, music is not a competition. Music is way of communicating an idea, an emotion, or a feeling to other people through means of rhythm, and melody. If you need to 'cheat' to communicate this idea, so be it.

  • I agree, but then we're dealing with other types of art, like the Animusic series (available here), which completely adheres to what you propose. However, part of the ART of playing music is using just your own limbs, this is why Maybach cars are so expensive, they are HAND crafted. This is the difference between Ferraris and Daewoos, Jazz and crappy Techno.

  • Ya know, I took the time to read ALL of the comments that have been made on your video here and I wanted to make sure I wasn't some fool who just glanced at this ridiculing this pedal for it being some "cheating", "cheater" or whatever most of you want to call it... I'm a guitar player, to let you all know, and I've messed around with drums a bit. I'm not impressed by the mere fact of you just throwing out something like this and being high and mighty with everyone's comments.

  • Bottom line: Make a video on what you do with this pedal in a song or a drum solo.

  • OK...Ill try to tone down the sarcasm and a song or solo is the bottom line. Thanks

  • yeah, hope I wasn't too cocky about it. Just an observation...

  • No,your right...Thanks

  • I did not mean to be high and mighty...I did just throw out a contextless video though so thanks for the words.

  • i don't understa nd the point of a triple pedal, unless you have three legs. does anyone?

    xx

  • If you can't imagine the things you could do with this pedal then there is no point...

  • please do enlighten me, my good man. are you of the three legged variety?

  • If you look at his pantlegs ...it looks like there is faces on them...or is that just me???

  • lol what are u trippin or somethin?

  • just you

    xx

  • It's an iron and an ironing board...

  • triple pedal thats fuckin retarded, nothing requires three pedals, lame idea for lame drummers, ay at drums can play cooler beats than that. sounds shitty

  • well, you told me!!!

  • It sounds thunderous! That is a really cool pedal!

  • hey broo how much is a dualist costing now?

  • between 275 and 450 depending whitch one you want...

  • ok thank you

  • got any links to what a triple's all about? and how you work them.. thanx!

  • its basicall the duallist pedal (wich hits on the upstroke and the downstroke) with a slave pedal attached

  • sweet vid and nice playin, but dude your kick sounds dead

  • I know...its the mic on the video cam. That is a killer sounding drum normally. Thanks for the kind words.

  • That's nasty.

  • possibly the most disgusting thing ever made for the drumming world...not a fan at all

    Nice playin tho.....

  • i dont like it

  • yeah but can you play at 250 bpm with a double pedal?

  • NO!!!Thats not why I bought this pedal!!I will NEVER be Derek Roddy!

1 cool pedal, 1 million opinions...

  • Awesome playing man ^_^

I've been looking into getting a duallist triple, and I was wondering, how long did it take you to get this fluent with it? Cause you have to lift your foot off of the first pedal for the double beater to strike don't you? It'd be a great help if you could tell me ^_^

  • This video was my 3rd time on the pedal...If you buy one dont give up,you can come up with cool ideas but be ready for a lot of trash talk....

  • Where did u get the triple for only $450?

  • Sounds epic, like some tribal drumming. Very cool.

  • what a fucken stupid pedal

  • totally agree

  • And I replied this comment:

    JonHz1 (4 weeks ago)

    what a fucken stupid pedal

  • whatever...

  • how much did that cost cus a regualar dualist is like 400.00 dollars????

  • 450.00

  • woah i thought it was more money than that is it easier then a double pedal like is it easier to go faster

  • It is not easier for speed, but it is cooler if you want to do some thing new with your existing chops....

  • i don't even see why you need 3 beaters.

  • Because it can serve as a normal double pedal,or a plain duallist for the right foot,or with all three for something new.

  • this was pretty neat...i personally wont buy the pedal..but it seems like it would have some crazy applications.

  • Either the sound quality is horrible, or you need to learn to tune your bass drum.

  • The sound quality is horrid, thank you for pointing out the obvious

  • so this is plays double the notes but you can just play single when you want too?

  • Yes

  • thunder :)

  • is it just me or does tthat bass drum sound like a piece of crap

  • You are right...

  • hhaha. i love some of these rhythms, actually. some sounded very tribal (but it's probably just the sound quality). nice though. little too expensive for my taste. i have no idea what kind of double pedal to get though. i had a pulse pro double for a year and now that's completely broken. what's your personal favorite (besides this)? it'd be easier if you messaged me, but if you don't have time it's fine. peace!

    chris

  • i don't use duallist but i just want to point out that there's no such thing as cheating in playing drums. saying it's cheating is just fuckin stupid. don't listen to these fuckers, do what you want to do dude.

  • Thank you...

  • some of the patterns can not be play on a double base drum, how can it be cheating?

  • what the fuck is this you are making nothing dude :D

  • ooIoo!!! :) :( :D

  • jesus christ what the hell is wrong with you "drummers"?? Whats wrong with being able to play faster more complex stuff easier.. that just means that you godly drummers should be able to go way faster and play way more complex stuff than this guy if he's cheating.. am i right?

  • HAHAHA! Cool dude...
