Essentially, it was. Dust storms are caused by gust fronts, which can result from the outflow of rain-cooled air from an intense thunderstorm or from a dry cold front. RFD from a supercell forms a strong gust front when it hits the ground, and if there's dust around, you can get a "rolling wall" just like a classic dust storm. This was a strong supercell-- we had to punch the gust front to avoid getting pounded by 4" hail. It tried really hard to drop a twister but never did.

but yeah, there was a strong microburst as you moved through. I heard someones windshield wipers and the windshield was just broken off and who ever had to drive through this with no windshield
