  • @favoritefella yeah :) I love the Mighty Boosh!!

  • fabulous tanx for sharing x

  • Thanks for those memories. Nolan and Bowie started my love for music I was a teeny bopper and remember waiting for the next single to come out and rushing to the record shop to buy it the day it was released after saving my pocket money. Then hiding the transistor under the desk to hear if it had got to no. 1! Was too young to see T Rex ( my Dad did not approve) but obviously seen Bowie a few times since. Still going to gigs and have seen many of the best bands mostly now metal. Thanks to Bol

  • free men !

  • U 4 dislikes can SUCK IT !!!!!!! Anything Marc does is better than ur best day.....

  • Bowie had some ugly ass teeth

  • @dmuse1981 I personally quite like them =P

  • @XxBOOSHGIRLxX My sentiments exactly! Something about those "imperfections" makes them absolutely perfect, for me, anyway. :) Bolan and Bowie...yummy. XXXX

  • @chanteleigh couldn't agree more..they just oozed sex and artistic risk, that's what made them so exciting, You never knew what was next. Really wonderful clips.

  • @dmuse1981 Bet you wouldn't mind being a few quid behind them! doubt he gives a toss what you think!

  • what a way to go

  • brings back great memories

  • Great video, thanx for posting. This will fire up a few people but.........Bolan was way ahead of Bowie. Bowie went on many more (successful) changes than Bolan had time for, but something that bugs a lot of people: Bolan was FIRST! The original innovator. Something that can never be taken away from him.

To 48krash/witchliLL23.....thanx for the memories, i was a few years too young and T.Rex never made to Perth, sad.

  • @Grogster2 you are right...and they started the harajuku movement

  • @Grogster2 What a shame you didn't get to see them..then,not many people I know saw them either..I loved them..and was too old to be a 'teenybopper'..Marc Bolan was a beautiful soul..His son is on FB..Roland Feld Bolan..and looks like him..and his Mum,Gloria Jones..At least you can listen now..I didn't get to see a lot of Bands I wanted to see..but saw a lot..including the Stones.1973..at Randwick Racecourse..I just went to a lot of Concerts..all my life..it 'Was' my Life..:)

  • @witchyliLL23 Thank god I saw Bolan and T.Rex...and yep it WAS a teenybopper concert (not like anything I'd seen before or since) KILLER gig tho with Marc sliding to the front of the stage on his satin pants-clad knees wailin' away with Hendrix-y (or so it seemed) solos!

Not too much later saw Coloured Balls...this may have been at the Green Elephant, Kensington...another WILD gig...(I'm a bit hazy on this tho...)

Saw and dug the Stones, Faces, Mick Ronson others too...Lee

  • Keep a little Marc in your heart...............

  • You have done an excellent job of this video..I am impressed!!..I saw Marc & T-Rex in Sydney,Australia in about 1973?..I am so glad I did!!.What a great show..He died just before his 30th Birthday-so very young!..Maybe he had done all he could, like the '27' Club,Jimi,Jimmy,Janis,etc..Marc was a Poet, not just a singer/songwriter..that's what makes the difference..If he were around now?.Who knows..It would have been great for his son,Roland..so unfair! Thanks for this video..Love it!!..

  • @witchyliLL23 It was around NOVEMBER at the Hordern Pavilion (1973)...I was 3 rows from the front..full of TEENYBOPPERS (so it wasn't like the Faces or the Stones) Marc announced from the stage a second gig Mid-week) which was poorly attended...Marc had put on a little weight by this time, but was INCREDIBLE!! Lee

  • @48krash ..Did Lobby Lloyd & The Coloured Balls do the support for this one..Nov,'73??.. They were so loud and full on..My mind was in an 'altered state'..very bizarre..Didn't notice the 'teenyboppers'..and I don't recall any screaming,etc..or I would have walked out..I saw and heard the concert fine..and I was way too old to be a teenybopper...lol..I have never screamed over any Band/Act..never could work out why they did it.I wanted to hear it.!!..Loved T-Rex..We were lucky..Lill..

  • In this video Marc shows he is OVER it. I can sense he craved a change of direction. His woman Gloria was correct, I believe her. But, Marc as so many, had to be diplomatic. How to bite the hand that feeds you? Marc trained as a model on a catwalk, he could bluff most people most times. Eyes don't lie. Body language emits low energy here. Sad eyes like a Michaelangelo detained from entering the Sistine Chapel. The hubris of a glam music industry took him down. Right time, wrong stage.

  • @stanibol around the time of the 'marc' shows-he was possibly his most positive! there was quite a buzz about bolan-he looked great, he had the dandy album out & the tour with the damned had been really enthusiastically [i was at the rainbow gig-it was AMAZING!] received. having said that , i doubt he would have got the success he had circa 71-72-73. I don't think he had quite the musical scope of say, bowie..

boy, what would i give to see him now..

  • Awesome!

  • Marc Bolan, a great poet. Far too vulnerable for the music industry of the '70s. One thing about Marc, his eyes didn't lie. From his eyes you can tell whether he felt enjoyment or despondent or sad/upset. The Marc in this video with Bowie was not enjoying himself. (my opinion)

  • @stanibol vulnerable? i think you'll find bolan was one of the most cock sure acts of the 70s!

  • @thepinktent I wrote in several places that Marc Bolan, had he lived even a little longer, he would have been bigger than Jesus and Beatles put together. But Marc was a sensitive bloke, trashed his Les Paul after USA tour, as he failed to make a breakthru in USA. He was pure poet with a velvet voice and poets are vulnerable. Born out of time. Ringo Starr refers to him as punk on the scene. lol. So many jealous of Marc Bolan. Marc's lyrics can oft be read on 2 levels. Poets do delve deeper.

  • @stanibol Bigger than Jesus & The Beatles?!?! Where you around at the time? He was on the up but his glory years were way behind him. All the Bolan babes had moved onto other teen idols like The Bay City Rollers or heavier stuff.

  • @missmarypickford Hi and thanks for reply. Pls see what I wrote in another post beginning:" In this video Marc shows he is OVER it. I can sense he craved a change of direction. His woman Gloria was correct, I believe her..." Marc Bolan would have delivered in the '80s what the world only relished in the C21st. I don't know what he would have come up with, but it would have been better than anything Pearl Jam or Michael Jackson delivered. Bolan's might have transformed from white to black.

  • I love it!! It is so obvious that Marc had great influence on the entire rock music industry. I wonder why he does not get much credit. He was such a trendsetter and is right on with what has come back around.

  • This is friggin BRILLIANT. Kudos to whoever did this.

  • 100 times greatttt!!!!

  • Oh those are great piks of Bowie!!!

    hes soo sexy!
