hmm. the truth is the truth man. vox, hughes and kettner or marshall is a better value for your money than fender. id compare fender to an over glorified line six spider. a little better... but not really.

@coldironhands1 its a battery powered solid state amp that has volume, tone, gain, and on/off switch. Runs off a nine volt. Can be ran off a pedal power supply if need be.

the older Peavey bandit's with the red trim on the front. It has the vintage/modern/hi gain switch for the distortion and vintage/modern switch for clean. Get that one, you wont regret it.

yeah the champ 600 is great, and you can swap out and experiment with the tubes as well. the valve junior as well, of course. There are a few more. Those 5 watts tube amps are gonna be a bit louder than that 15w line 6, better/more organic sounding and you wont want to throw em away quickly, they can be (with fantastic results) used for a lot of home recording (most people cant crank high wattage tube amps at home). Just get an OD pedal if you're the type that needs high gain at all times.

@dclaver2 If you can save $300 you can get a Marshall 30MGDFX, I have it and I believe it's a nice amp that's good for practicing and recording too. Also the built in digital reverb is awesome.
