  • @Britec09 your the man

  • Hi i did have rundll missing when opening aps progs, i went to follow above steps, cmd prmpt wont run, it gives me 'choose program you want to open this file with window'

rndll32 is in windows/sys32 but does not have .dll after it like many others in this folder.

Most programs i run bring me window for 'which program from list etc'

    ?any ideas?

  • @thesiknik I have the same problem ! Happened yesterday after downloading eset nod32 , well basically it just started finding random viruses at all files ! like rundll32.exe and so on , the viruses were only 2 , Neshta.A and Sality.T , well now i pretty much can't do anything , + it slows down my pc like hell . I have tried all kinds of kaspersky and other things but nothing help . So i hope Britec Could have a solution .

  • Thank you very much, at last a very good solution !

  • Had not problem what so every fixing my rundll32 error, by following the video. Thanks for you help.

  • ok when I try to run "expand..." it asks me which program to use to open expand.exe

  • hey what if you dont have the cd

  • Thank you very mach man you save my! :D

  • @1996pirat who pirat me or britec LOL

  • C\WINDOWS\ServicePackFiles\i386\rundll32.exe (just a single space between these two in the command) c:\windows\system32\rundll32.exe

  • go to microsofts page get service pack 2. Once downloaded restart your computer. Then go to the start menu and click on run. Type in cmd. It will bring up a black screen. Now just copy paste this command and hit enter.

    expand C\WINDOWS\ServicePackFiles\i386\rundll32.exe c:\windows\system32\rundll32.exe

if you type that in exactly or just highlight what I typed then copy it and right click in the cmd window and click paste it will fix the problem for you. Restart your computer and its done.

  • When I try to download the file from SP2 i386 it asks me what I should open it with????

  • expand C\WINDOWS\ServicePackFiles\i386\rundll32.exe c:\windows\system32\rundll32.exe. If you enter that after you have re downloaded service pack 2 it will replace the missing rundll32 file and will fix all your errors WITHOUT THE CD. If you have questions please contact me and I will help you fix this problem. Dont get scammed and dont pay for shit. I got you guys covered. God BLess

  • Now I just want to add to what he has stated. For thoes of you that do not have the cd.. I have solved it as he suggested but left no steps. Re Install service pack 2 .. it does have rundll32. Next go to Start then search. Search service pack files, double click I386 folder.. then go to rundll32. Right click and go to properties. You want to go to start and run, then cmd. Put in the properties link which is usually c. Paste the location then add\rundll32 so it looks like this

  • Worked great! Thanks for the assistance.

  • OMG THANKS!!!!

  • @fuckdamedia can't open it , I tried anything , open it , merge and nothing works. If I try to open it with "open it" apper like i try to open any other exe file , it ask me with which program I want to open the file. Srry for my enghish

  • @SilusTheDemon Did you fix it. I have the solution. It took me 4 hours of searching. I could not open anything on my pc. It asked me what file would I like to open anything on my desktop inc firefox ie, I couldnt even do a system restore. That would even ask me which program would u like to open the system restore. It adds the .exe file to your registry right from the site in 5 secs..I'll send anyone the link if u want it

    Click the 9th one down.

  • @MegaHegira I would like that link please! :P

  • @BlackEyeVision @BlackEyeVision

on left side click the 9th link called win xp fixes, then click the 14th link down in the middle of the page called file association fixes. It will download the file in 2 secs to your pc and clear up the issue you are having with this as in the vide. I did it and worked perfect within 10 secs. Saved me about $300 bringing it to a pc store that would have tild me I have a virus or something... peace

  • I had a big rundll32.exe problem.

Britec solution wouldn't work cos it didn't let me open the cmd box.

    My Fix for W XP

1 Restart computer, as puter is starting keep tapping the F8 Key to go into safe mode.

2 Follow instructions and choose SAFE MODE WITH NETWORKING, then enter

3 A box comes up and says PRESS NO to access System Restore.

4 Click your restore button and restore to a earlier time.

It worked for me. Hope it helps.

Type in search box to find what your key is.

  • grrr. If I type documents and settings into run, documents and settings comes up. I cannot get to that little black box.

I've been trying for 2 days!

  • I tried but it said I may not have permission. I'm also n0t understanding if I type documents and settings into run before I type all the other stuff. I'm very frustrated as I cannot do anything on the PC.

  • i type in cmd but for that and everything else the open with window pops up, how do i fix that?

  • @SuperSaiyan4Jared The same thing happened to me when I tried to open cmd.exe. When the "Open with..." box came up, I clicked "Browse" and went into C:>WINDOWS>system32 and chose cmd.exe again, and that time it opened. Guess it opened itself with...itself. Still, it doesn't do me any good since I can't seem to find my disk. I really wish there was a way to fix this problem without having to have that stupid disk. Things get lost, you know...

  • Bullshits guys...if u have a problem like this u need to download Ccleaner...it really 100% works with all these errors..i tried it and its fine now!!!

  • Optionally you can go into safe mode and copy the file over. That's if you're uncomfortable with command prompts or just don't want to do that. Of course, if you're not comfortable with command prompts, you probably aren't comfortable playing with system files.

  • thank you very helpful

  • @LegsLuvur this worked perfectly, thanks dude

  • DUde My secuirity systyem erased cmd too

    >:U stupid AVG

  • hate you

  • Arman, read legsluvurs post about 3 posts below yours.

  • If that question is for me, I'm not sure, I don't have windows 7, but it may be very similar.

Find out what key number gets you into safe mode.

You can find out by asking the question on google.

Example, I typed (key number for safe mode with windows XP, it worked for me.

  • Is this the same for Windows 7 ?

  • I had a big rundll32.exe problem.

Britec solution wouldn't work cos it didn't let me open the cmd box.

  • Hey,

  • Hey there, I know this vid is a couple years old now, but I just wanted to say thanks for the help!

  • criky mate!

  • thankz man! you saved my life! hahah

  • i have downloaded a gme from internet and when i run it , it says : please insert the correct cd-rom , press ok and retry application...

there is no crack file ... i tried too copy all files to it and nothing works...

i burned into a cd it still didnt work

    any solution ?

  • Downloading YOUR Rundll32.exe.zip file helped fix my XP SP3 system.

But I later ran Anti Malware Bytes on my system and it found a file named something like, "Word.Exploit" in your Rundll32 file. Both the copy in my Windows folder, and the original copy I expanded onto my Desktop.

  • Another solution, rename run32dll to run32dll.old. Reboot. Windows need it so automatically create another one...

  • What i should do if i hadnt the CD :((???

  • first of all find the rundll.exe file on your system copy that file to the system folder C:\windows\system32.....but it is necessary first u clean your registry errors u should try Reginout tool to remove registry errors it is an intelligent and recommnded tool it removes registry errors, remove invalid shortcuts and duplicate files, repair DLL files, and remove startup and runtime errors.
