Basically to settle things, Leeds was created to keep the northeners away form Reading! :)

Both festivals are up for it. They're just up for different bands. For example the atmosphere at Reading was brilliant for Bloc Party and Radiohead, but poor for Kings of Leon and Kaiser Chiefs, and vice versa at Leeds.
