Great performance from Natalie. She can certainly handle the material which has to be very difficult in a live setting. Considering that this song is probably the most original, most difficult vocal arrangement in recording history and there is not a single word of lyric. Simply amazing! I shudder every time I hear it, when it's done this well.
A song like this is a gift to the greater rock and roll colotura singers out there. It takes a band as great as Floyd to create such an opportunity. Every singer will have their own take which is the greatness of the song. In 100 years singers will still see this as a benchmark work
Are you kidding me? This song is one of the most sexy and sultry songs ever! Death, sexy, sultry, they kinda go together. Knowing I'm going to die sooner or later just ups my appreciation of the AMAZING Ms. Azerad's vocal miracle. I would love to sit at her feet for this one. WOW.
You hear with your ears , not your eyes. If you feel it too sultry because she put her hand on her hip, you missed out on what was on of the best vocal performances you'll get to see. Everyone can pick out , what they think , is a kink in the armor. Miss Azerad pulled this song off LIVE and that the best you could find wrong with her performance. Then she did her Job and did it very well.
@dirtsquirt3 What's wrong with sultry? It's a sultry/soulful interlude. I liked it, loved Sam Brown, Antoinette sings the hell out of it. Sam Brown my fav, but love them all...don't think Pink's put a bad one up there yet.
@dirtsquirt3 I think Roger Waters, in the interview here on youtube, knows best what the song means, and what feeling the group wanted to convey. This version doesn't do that.
great vocals. im a little annoyed though. this song isn't supposed to be sexy and sultry. it's about death. clare tory's original captured the feeling best, although the pulse version with sam brown starting it off is also amazing. again, this one is great musically. even if an "artist" wanted to "interpret" it this way, i'm not sure it should be messed with. to me, it kinda feels like turnin Tambourine Man into gospel song.
@jobemo75 I disagree. Yes, the song appears to be about death, and like all Pink Floyd, certainly has a dark element. But the doesn't mean that it isn't meant to be sexy. I'm mean, they did choose a woman to do it. Death can be sexy, and if anyone can pull off sexy death, it's pink floyd. Also, tory didn't "capture the feeling" that was intended. She set the feeling, she created it.
Wow Natalie Azerod is amazing!! Goose pimples, I held a contest and she is by far the winner!! Even after she hiccups right at the end, she nailed it I LOVE YOU NATALIE!!!!!
Check out this new Pink Floyd Tribute Band! Look up this song Great Gig in the Sky by Eclipse in Nashville TN. They are kicking off their tour and they don't change a thing! They sound JUST like the ORIGINAL ALBUM! It's crazy! And there is another hot chick playing the keys!
WOW! She is the first one I've heard do such justice to this song as a single singer. Thank you for posting this. What a great find for me. I love this song!
Suena bien pero...
Entra con mucha fuerza pero se va cayendo conforme avanza el tema, no sostiene la fuerza necesaria hasta el final.
Buena voz aún así.

It was raunchy but that detracted from the beauty of the piece. But she has great pipes certainly. I liked some of this.

Clare Torry's album version is #1 - Rachel Fury performed the best live version on the Delicate Sound Of Thunder Tour - this is just ok.

Adds a little but of zaz to a classic Pink Floyd song. Missing a few key things, but a very good and interesting rendition.
