You need to take into consideration the respective styles of each performer. I LOVE Duff McKagan (I'm a bassist, he's my favorite bassist), but honestly, he'd be terrible with Mike Portnoy. Same with Hendrix. He wouldn't fit into that band. You need to realize that just because they are good players, and were great in their bands, they won't really fit into a band with other great players.
