I'm not saying that abusing drugs is good. Drug addiction is a terrible mental illness, as it eventually depletes the natural production of the chemicals that the drug reuptakes/releases, but the high is as real as the high you get from doing "real" things. For example, doing Methamphetamine increases the dopamine, epinephrine and norepinephrine levels in your brain, making you feel euphoric and alive, just as if you for example bungy-jump, sky-dive, have sex or win a physical fight.
