I do hear old garage music in them Like the seeds and the music machine and the Count five. So the styles have been heard before, what's so wrong about hearing one new single song that reminds you of twelve of your favorites at once? Think of how it multiplies on the scale of a full album?

They are working with these "familiar" sounds and turning it into something of their own creation it's not only covers with the Horrors and it's great of them to bring the sounds back with a renewed polish.

I hear everything you mention but what I don't get is any sense of immediate danger from them, that was so inherent from seminal post-punk bands like the birthday party. it comes off as accessible packaged clean "fun" ok, maybe a stepping stone for young listeners, but in no way is there anything in similarity to that kind of raw energy, or unique approach. it's just pop music.
