  • Yes i found it, i used to watch this TV series when i was a kid but i had forgotten the name of it.

  • I lost my f*cking mind when i saw this video on YT because i can remeber the first ep aired...it was when kid met bogg for the first time and they were by the river.....i gotta get the dvd now...tv shows today just suck

  • Nice show.back then brings back so many memories

  • i am sooo tuched..i wos on first highschool year when the show start in Greece..i even start to read my school histry book better ..just in case hahahaha

  • omg i forgot all about this, i used to watch it all the time

  • This was a fun entertaining show, it was sad when john hexim accidently shot himself on set playing with a blank loaded pistol.

  • omg what a scum!

  • My sis and I used to watch every Sunday and I remember many a time it was pre-empted by football. She was in love with Phineas and i just loved the (cheesy) time travel stories. Probably why I'm a Doctor Who fan now. Such a simpler time for kids but cheesy fun and less attitude than today.

  • This does not pre-date Quantum Leap, at least not the concept. The concept for Quantum Leap was originally proposed as the Galactica 1980. Baltar goes back in time to alter Earth's history so they can develop the technology to deal with the Cylons. Apollo follows him back, with Starbuck going back and forth through time acting as a liaison. The network didn't like the time travel aspect, but Donald Bellisario later turned it into QL.

  • @fjccommish They ALL go back to The Time Machine by H.G.Wells.

  • Loved this show. used to show it to my 6th graders as a reward on an occasional Friday afternoon. Got some of them hooked on history, which of course, was the goal. :-)

  • @tarprinkle AWESOME Teacher... THAT is how you KNOW you have succeeded! When the student comes back for more!

  • @tarprinkle What could be better than this show? It was simple. Red means bad, green "It's green kid!" means good.

  • Downloaded this of TPB some time ago ... this, logans run, mr merlin, man from atlantis, time tunnel, the fantastic journey, the invisible man ... sigh ... all great shows.

  • Jon-Erik was SOOOOO HOT! Miss him. Show was good too.

  • I watched this show in 1984 when i was ten years old. I thought it was great. I also used to watch 'Cover Up' in which Jon also starred, brillllll.

  • i wanted Jon Hexum to be my dad! and later my boyfriend when i came out .....lol

  • Jon Erik Hexum! YUMMMM!

  • I don't think this aired in the UK but I saw it when I lived in Dubai as a kid and remember enjoying it. Looking back at it now it looks like cheesy, camp tosh lol

  • When I was a child I actually met Jon-Erik. He was doing a charity ball game and he signed my baseball cap. I kept it for years then it got ruined when our house was flooded.

He was so sweet to a scared little fan. RIP Jon.

  • I loved this show when I was a kid. I watched it all the time. I thought I did anyway. I recently bought the entire Series on DVD and saw it was only 20 episodes. I must have been watching a lot of reruns.

  • I just loved this show when I was little.

    RIP Jon Erik Hexum (1957-1984)

  • is the exclamation point really necessary?

  • Oh my God, I remember this show...Jon Eric was looker wasn't he. RIP

  • Green light kid! We did it! =D I miss this show

  • Things were "wholesome" back then. Thanks for the memories...

  • as a teenager i remember reading in the NY Post about how this actor named Jon-Erik Hexum accidentally shot himself in the head. he jokingly put a prop gun to his head and pull the trigger. a piece from the blank put a hole in his head, he died a few days later. i had no idea who he was at the time.

  • This was one of my favorite shows growing up. I love history and this was one way of enjoying it.

  • Que Padre serie. Me recuerda a mi infancia. Como se ve que la television antes era muy sana. felicidades por subirlo

  • I liked this show a lot but still feel a lot of sadness over Hexum's tragic death. There's no telling what he could've done had he survived.

  • I'd almost forgotten about that show. I absolutely loved it and you're correct Gregdog550...they don't make them like that anymore{but they should}. Ty for the trip down memory lane not only for me but others as well I'm sure.....it was a far,far "simplier time" back then when this show was on. May we someday get those days back.

  • Ah, back when TV shows were actually ENTERTAINING!! Not like today's idiot shows (American Idol, Ugly Betty, Two and a half Men, etc).

  • Ah, back when TV shows were actually ENTERTAINING!! Not like today's idiot shows (American Idol, Ugly Betty, Two and a half Men, etc).

  • Yeah thanks for fixing slavery you guys!

  • If you are truly aware of yourself and your environment, you can BE a Voyager in the pressent moment. ;)

  • I remember that Jon-Erik Hexum was really a huge star at the time. The week he died, I remember clearly that his picture was on the cover of almost every magazine on the newstand -- and these magazines were printed BEFORE the accident that killed him. He was just starting to become a huge household name. Then he accidentally killed himself and it was all over.

  • wtf? his death was being reported ahead of him accually dying? I knew of the accident, but that to me suggests murder!

  • Well, no. The reason that his picture was on the cover of almost every magazine on the newsstand was because he was very, very popular. He was at the extreme height of his popularity -- at the point where every single person recognized him and every single woman swooned over him. It was at that point that he died. It always amazed me -- the timing of it. Kind of like if Leonardo DiCaprio died right after Titanic's release - it would be like that if that had happened.

  • Just remembered this show and how fun it was as a kid so I looked it up. Then I saw the latest comments and now I can laugh again at the cosmic joke which is life.

  • this is on dvd now just rented in on netflix

  • this takes me years back when i was kid watching every episode of it

  • The premise that "when history is going wrong, we fix it"

is a bit ridiculous. That would imply time travel is common, as in "Time Cop" and that others going thru time would goof things up and then 'our heroes' would patch things up. As for the manifest destiny argument,

but of course, the US feels we're the cops of the world, because we have the most weapons. We WERE the good guys in WWII, and had nuclear secrets not been sold, the rest of the world might have been less prone

    to fighting...

  • it was just a "hollywood" show. cool your fucking jets!

  • 'We travel through time to help history along, give it a push where it's needed...'- Oh the arrogance of American popular culture. Let's hope they arrived back in time to lend Leonardo Da Vinci a helping hand with the finishing touches to the Mona Lisa.

  • Yeah, except I don't think Bogg or the Voyagers were meant to be American.

  • No, of course not! Except for the thick American drawl coming out of his mouth. I'm not Anti- American, but the premise of this show is insane and typical of America's attitude to the rest of the world. Namely that it embodies some kind of benign omnipotent force which exercises its power for the greater good. Ahh, the delusional dreams of a culture on steroids living in it's own bubble.

That said, I quite like Baywatch.

  • Um ... in the show, Bogg is supposed to be a pirate from the 1600s or 1700s. There wasn't even a United States then.

OK, now say you're sorry. ;)

  • I apologise unreservedly. I'm obviously in the wrong on this. There was I thinking this was an American TV show from the early 80's, when in fact it's a TV show from the late 1680's. Europeans huh? When will we learn?;)

  • Good to see you totally missed the point I was making - or chose to ignore it because it damages your point of view.

If you want to discuss arrogance, I say It's arrogant to extrapolate some hidden imperialist political agenda from a cheesy kids' show meant for educational purposes.

But what do I know? I'm just an ignorant American.

  • You were making a point? I thought you were just typing words for the sake of it.

Heh, really? How so? Any 'extrapolation' on my part is hardly an exercise in subtle detective work. The show is American. The actors are American. Their accents are....American. American kids see an American hero, who despite supposedly being a pirate from God knows where/when, speaks just like them, and so must be just that , an American, re-writing history and saving the world from itself.

  • As I said I'm not anti-American, but this 'educational' tv series is, despite probably just being conceived as a harmless piece of insanity, seems to be indicative of America's attitude to the rest of the world.

I didn't call you an ignorant American. I wouldn't dream of being so rude.

  • John Eric Heckum is the actor that accidently shot himself with a prop gun.

  • Awesome! I used to love this as a kid, most people don't even remember it!

  • I barely remember this show. I did watch it though.

  • Thanks for the respond, reptilianss! Much appreciated! Kudos!

  • Hey marcopolo1266! Please, please, pleeeeeeeese tell me where I can find the DVD set. I've been looking for years. No one knows, let alone remembers this show! My absolute favorite, along with "Greatest American Hero".

  • universal playback have it for sale on their site.

  • I loved this show when I was a kid, I think it was what started my obsession with time travle! lol

  • Meeno Peluce was born in Amsterdam, Netherlands, the son of Sondra N. (née Londy), a personal manager and caterer, and Floyd N. Peluce, a certified public accountant.[1][2] He has one half-sister, actress Soleil Moon Frye, whose father is actor Virgil Frye.

  • Of course both Soleil Moon Frye and Meeno Pulce look alike. They are brother and sister. When they were both kids, Soleil favored her brother's looks as well as his teeth, but at the moment it seemed like Soleil had dental surgery not too long ago. So those long teeth she did have once had been filed down a bit, though.

  • i actually bought the whole series on DVD. Here is a question for you all. Do you think the guy who played Finneus Bogg would have made a name for himself or would he have just been an 80s icon like marc singer from V?

  • Considering that I could remember this serie years after and what the actors looked like, I think he could have made a name for himself if he had a good manager who prevented him from doing something stupid.

  • Definitely would have been a big star. He had the voice and the looks.

  • smart kids gimme a pain!

  • a almost forget about this show. Nothing beats the 80s

  • amen bro good quality enterment.. bak then

now we got crap lkie stargate atlantisand stargate sg1, and crplkie chuck.. no real talent at al ju boombs showing

  • This used to be my show back then remember I was real sad when Jon-erik hexum had died it was a shock they brought that other guy on then the show got cut off not as good.Without him

  • If i'm not mistaking that kid is Punky Brewster's real life brother. You know Solie Moon Frye

  • yes he is

  • It was OK..Its the time of the Indiana Jons craze

  • I had pretty much SUPRESSED all memories of this show...which in retrospect appears to have been a heartless and humourless rip off of Dr. Who, just whittled down to Earth, mostly in cheap period costumes.

And the Adult Lead's special "Beef Jerky"

  • And The Tomorrow People? Is that a ripoff of Doctor Who? Personally I think Bernard's Watch beats this but that's another story!

  • great show

  • Jon Erik was soooo sexy! I had a huge crush on that guy.

  • its to bad that hexum died at such a younge age

  • man that was a great show, definanly dont make them like this anymore

  • just watched the voyagers series.thanx internet..thanx youtube.

  • I used to love this TV show. I wish we could watch more stuff like this now on tv. Those ol' days...

  • Meeno Pelluci is Soleil Moon-Frye's brother!

  • yea I liked this show when I was a kid,

I didnt realize how far off they were with the errh 'helping hostory', glad I didnt know about quantum mechanics and 10 dimensions when I was a kid.

  • I always liked this 'Time Travel" show. There was that Quantum Leap, but it was always trying to make a statement. This one was just good adventure. It isn't exactly Time Tunnel, though.

  • And thank god. "Time Tunnel" SUCKED.

  • To each his own. The early shows of a similar theme can seem less exiting or flashy to some, but they usually are the "gold standard." I like the show just fine.

  • Use to watch this back in the day too. Hated that the show did not longer.

  • The shit they put on T.V.

  • theres was anorher show early in the 90's with this same guy who remebers its name?

  • yeah i used to wwatch this show with my friends all the time, it's a shame this guy killed ghimself

  • he killed himself on accident though

  • Died after accidently shooting himself with a blank bullet.

  • i miss shows that could be entertaining and teach you history at the same time, great concept, just doesn't work irl. look at captain planet

  • I would love to get my hands on an actual "Omni" prop or good replica.

  • Just like Brandon Lee, life cut short before his career could really bloom. Talk about unfair.

  • Yeah! This made my night. I haven't seen this show since I was 8.TY

  • Accidental?

Jon-Erik Hexum shot himself in the head on purpose. He consciously pulled the trigger, so that's purposeful, not accidental. He didn't know a blank cartridge could kill him, but that was bad judgment, not an accident.

Just the noise of a pistol shot right up next to your ear would be incredibly painful. That's just dumb.

Treat every gun as if it were loaded.

  • One of my favorite shows of all time!

  • saved this video with savetube.*com :D

  • The offical Voyagers! R1 DVD is coming July 17th.

  • It was a great show. Loved the music, characters, and the stories. I hated seeing it cancelled also. Wish they would bring shows like this back.

  • I miss that show! Where can I get it!

  • god I loved that show!!!! I was JUST thinking about it! you rock for posting it! I even had a compass when I was a kid that I would pretend to use to go back in time. Thanks a lot!

  • i want the collection on dvd...I WANT IT

  • My eyes filled with tears as I watched this one. I hope the powers that be put it on DVD someday. John Erik was one of the very best ever.

  • I love Voyagers!!! I have a whole website dedicated to it and 2 fan slideshows up here. Jon-Erik Hexum died in 1984. Thanks for posting, Ginger

  • Jon-Erik Hexum, what a sad loss.
