I always clap for TinkerBell. I was afraid that if I didn't, she wouldn't make it... even though she does every time. You can never be too careful with fairies!

I was lookin 4 the real movie but instead found this. No offense to anyone but I hate this it's old creepy and stupid... The part that Peter pans a girl creeps me out :( I'll keep searching for the real one I guess Lola bunny
@Lillylovesgreen classically, peter pan has been portrayed by a woman in past times and is not uncommon. jm barrie wrote the play originally with peter pan in a female actor role.
that poptart teen crap that came out in 2003 is probably what you're looking for. is that the so called "real" movie you are talking about?
@ HenhousetheRed- I think they want to keep it the same as the book. In the book, Hook got stuck in the trunk of the tree, and couldn't reach Peter to stab him. So he poured poison into his medicine
Hook played his role decently, but MAN was the jig up for Peter when Hook found his way inside thier hideaway. I'd freak out and go through some dark tunnel inside the hideaway if I knew Hook was in there. Damn that villan creeps me out.
I clapped like a goober then and im clapping like a goober now!!! hahaha! This is the kind of stuff that makes me wanna smack what the writers of today, OUR KIDS WILL ONLY EXPERIENCE THIS CLASSIC IF WE SHOW IT TO THEM! THIS IS QUALITY! LOOK AT THE NUMBER OF PEOPLE THAT ARE ADULTS AND STILL IN LOVE WITH THIS PRODUCTION!
@HenhousetheRed Well, he would have gotten over his fear of bad form, except that, for a second, he pitied Peter. (There was a streak, however small, of good in Captain Hook.) Then, he felt that there was something overly cocky and bad-form-ish about the way Peter lay there, and so he poisoned the drink so he could kill the boy without having to look at him.
god i've always loved this... and i've always clapped, every time, even now and i'm in college now haha... its a good thing my roommate isn't here right now!
i like all faries cept one out of the seven in our prduction. the orange fairy, she was soo rude to me, which is why i didnt clap for her... hehe im an indian
I don't get why Wendy had to put on a cape when she wanted to go back home. She didn't have one when she first got to Neverland, why does she need one now?
I DO BELIEVE IN FAIRIES I DO, I DO BELIEVE IN FAIRIES I DO, I DO BELIEVE IN FAIRIES I DO. -CLAP CLAP CLAP CLAP CLAP- *CLAPS SO HARD HANS ARE RED* I BELIEVE IN FAIRIES NO DON't DIE TINK!
my mom auditioned for the part of Peter Pan and she cut her hair like Peter's in this movie...and she still has that haircut today. So Mary Martin reminds me so much of my mom...the facial expressions, the hair...wow
Um....yeah, so what happens if Hook suddenly swallows and that poison is still on his tongue? I've had this on video for years, and I've never really understood that.....:/
@girlovestacos88 ... I'm bored, so I'm just answering your question - but the poison was made from his tears when his eyes turn blood red when gutting someone. The tears have so much malice in them that they're lethal to everyone else, BUT since the tears/poison originally come from him, it doesn't poison him if he accidentally drinks some.
Does anyone know what happen or how i find the song that came after distant melody? It's something about Peter Pan going home and seeing another boy in bed. The door was barred and the window barred....and that's as far as i remember....anyone know that song? it was in our version.
Gosh, this is such a wonderful piece about the good and evil, and the transition between childhood and adulthood, and life in general. JM Barrie was a genius.
I agree to say he was. The themes are so interesting... I wonder if Barrie was consciously aware of how realistic his work actually is. I mean, considering the kind of childhood he had, I think Peter Pan can be seen as a fascinating illustration of a missing mother and the consequences of that lack of affection in the life of a boy. The author seemed to have PPS himself, which would explain a lot of things in his story... I'll have to read more on the subject, though.
i have this on tape when it was on USA in the '80's...i love watching not only this but the old commercials as well..brings back so many memories!!!!!!
almost positive. *grabs copy of Peter Pan and scans it* Ahhh ok well if we want to get technical, in the book it's just water (out of calabash but the "poison" was obviously a red food coloring and milk would be the best choice for it showing up.
i think its just because kids dont like medicine. and she is the adult so she thinks she has to give it it him. its just make believe though. there playing house. but when he wrote the book it was probably just a way that hook could poison peter pan
I love that someone posted this. My brother and I saw this back in the 80s (he was 8 and I was 3), and I remember it was on ch 4 on NBC a week or so before The Time Taveler show was on ^^ Those were the days lol
I watched this movie when I was a kid and I would always clap, and I was so excited when I saw the entire thing on Youtube. It's a term used in like filming and stuff... the "fourth wall" is the one you can't see because you're looking in, I guess you could say. When an actor looks at or speaks to an audience (or the camera), it is said that he/she "broke the fourth wall."
You should never make fun of this classic. If you do it only shows you don't have an imagination and that is what Peter Pan is all about.

@HenhousetheRed
Because, it would save time, it'd be pretty fool-proof, and it would make sense. In other words, it would go against everything Peter Pan stands for.
auuggghhh 1 year ago
@HenhousetheRed In the book, it was because he could not bring himself to do it. Bad form, you know.
iamnowchristine 1 year ago
@iamnowchristine which begs the question: if stabbing someone in their sleep is bad form, why isn't putting poison in their drink?
