  • You should never make fun of this classic. If you do it only shows you don't have an imagination and that is what Peter Pan is all about.

  • @Nemesis9002 agreed ;D

  • Hook kind of looks like Professor Snape in this scene

  • I clapped so hard, I hurt my elbows of all things....

  • I always clap for TinkerBell. I was afraid that if I didn't, she wouldn't make it... even though she does every time. You can never be too careful with fairies!

  • @KitsunenoHibi Same here. Even now I clap for her. How can you not it would be cruel.

  • I'm an eighteen year old in college, and I still clapped ^_^

  • Did anyone else spend time looking for tinkerbell at 6:05 like I did. I kept replaying saying, where the heck is she! Oh...there she is on the bottom of the table cloth...OKAY LIGHT PEOLE AIM THE FLASHLIGHT PLEASE!!!1

  • i clapped for Tink!

  • You people that keep criticizing this, you should quit it. This is a classic, I grew up with this. It's not a movie that is modern I understand this, just quit with the criticism or maybe you should learn how to enjoy classics better than what you do.

  • @randomcupcake25 i agree that was pretty shocking

  • why the hell needing pirates a mother helloo they are adults and the villains and adults they dont need anymore a mother

  • Did anybody actually clapped?? Lol

  • @Lillylovesgreen classically, peter pan has been portrayed by a woman in past times and is not uncommon. jm barrie wrote the play originally with peter pan in a female actor role.

that poptart teen crap that came out in 2003 is probably what you're looking for. is that the so called "real" movie you are talking about?

  • @LilMissSunshine208

    @deadzonefan13

    I did it tooooooo!:D:D:D

  • I totally just clapped for Tink.

    No shame.

  • LOl. I'm 20 and I clapped for TinkerBell.

  • Well there goes the fourth wall...

  • some dagger...more of a sword...love peter pan anyway

  • eu sou do Brasil gostei muito dese filme mais perter pan e mulher

  • why did the pirates capture and carry the lost boys to the ship

  • @ HenhousetheRed- I think they want to keep it the same as the book. In the book, Hook got stuck in the trunk of the tree, and couldn't reach Peter to stab him. So he poured poison into his medicine

  • aww poor peter :(

  • whats the medicine for?

  • whats wrong with the volume?

  • when he says clap! clap! clap! i clap lol

  • @Retard1Peace I clapped too! It made me smile :)

  • Hook played his role decently, but MAN was the jig up for Peter when Hook found his way inside thier hideaway. I'd freak out and go through some dark tunnel inside the hideaway if I knew Hook was in there. Damn that villan creeps me out.

  • wendy was pretty desperate :L

    the way he/she reacted classic :L 3:44

  • Slowest pole slide ever

  • @Drunkenprophet23 That bit, along with the music, always made the scene creepy to me.

  • The medicine was a milk. And the red poison was a strawberry milk syrup! I remeber on television to stage.

  • @42whatelse yeah strawberry milk is pretty lethal. Who drinks that stuff?

  • @TreesOfBaylor I love strawberry milk :(

  • I clapped like a goober then and im clapping like a goober now!!! hahaha! This is the kind of stuff that makes me wanna smack what the writers of today, OUR KIDS WILL ONLY EXPERIENCE THIS CLASSIC IF WE SHOW IT TO THEM! THIS IS QUALITY! LOOK AT THE NUMBER OF PEOPLE THAT ARE ADULTS AND STILL IN LOVE WITH THIS PRODUCTION!

  • It was difficult for me NOT to clap when watching this as a kid. -.-

  • i never understood why Peter needs medicine

  • how can they act like she's a boy when she sounds SO much like a girl? it doesnt make sense!!

ps. hook is very slow when it comes to sliding down a pole

  • @hotashley172 he has to be quiet of course

  • I like how Peter wipes of his(her) hand after he(she) shakes the boys' hands.

  • Peter, wha...what are you doing...no, don't look at ME....no....NO.....NO! DON'T BREAK THE FORTH GODDAMN WALL!

  • Apparently, Peter has no regards for STICKING TO THE GODDAMN SCRIPT. Boy, is HE fired!

  • @RivaJane Hook broke it first!

  • lol this is true, but Hook is far more subtle about it! ;-p

  • I used to clap my hands for this allll the time too! hahha

  • BAHAHAHA !

  • if Hook was in the room with Peter, why not just stab him or something? Silly villain.

  • @HenhousetheRed

Because, it would save time, it'd be pretty fool-proof, and it would make sense. In other words, it would go against everything Peter Pan stands for.

  • @HenhousetheRed In the book, it was because he could not bring himself to do it. Bad form, you know.

  • @iamnowchristine which begs the question: if stabbing someone in their sleep is bad form, why isn't putting poison in their drink?

  • @HenhousetheRed Well, he would have gotten over his fear of bad form, except that, for a second, he pitied Peter. (There was a streak, however small, of good in Captain Hook.) Then, he felt that there was something overly cocky and bad-form-ish about the way Peter lay there, and so he poisoned the drink so he could kill the boy without having to look at him.

  • I ALWAYS clap.

  • me, too. my parents made sure my brother and i clapped along with them when i was a kid and we watched this.

  • why would peter pan use a ladder if he...er she?..can fly...

  • i guess for the lost boys

  • Still has to use the door doesn't he, she, or it

  • That's like asking why people don't drive to the mailbox.

  • @gretaaapeterson He's underground.

  • @gretaaapeterson maybe he or she neede to get out of the house before they can fly

  • @gretaaapeterson Even Samantha doesn't fly up the center stairs in Bewtiched.

  • @gretaaapeterson The reason he uses a ladder is because they are supposed to be under ground. The ladder is the only way up.

  • *CLAPPING!!!* Pheeew, she lives.

  • AAhhh gaddamnit...

    -Clap-

    -Clap, clap, clap, clap-

    -CLAP CLAP CLAP CLAP-

Way to guilt me into it, Peter.

  • yeeah Peter way to break the 4th wall

    *CLAP CLAP CLAP CLAP CLAAAAP*

  • My god, I actually started clapping there!

  • Wow. Looking back, the goodbye was pretty sad. Especially when the glasses kid never shook hands with Peter.

  • The glasses kid was Tootles

  • god i've always loved this... and i've always clapped, every time, even now and i'm in college now haha... its a good thing my roommate isn't here right now!

  • i like all faries cept one out of the seven in our prduction. the orange fairy, she was soo rude to me, which is why i didnt clap for her... hehe im an indian

  • I don't get why Wendy had to put on a cape when she wanted to go back home. She didn't have one when she first got to Neverland, why does she need one now?

  • i think she found it their in neverland and it made her feel -shrugs- adult like? like a parent or mom and adult? i dunno.

  • Because now she is a super hero.

  • I DO BELIEVE IN FAIRIES I DO, I DO BELIEVE IN FAIRIES I DO, I DO BELIEVE IN FAIRIES I DO. -CLAP CLAP CLAP CLAP CLAP- *CLAPS SO HARD HANS ARE RED* I BELIEVE IN FAIRIES NO DON't DIE TINK!

  • now that's what i call spirit

  • my mom auditioned for the part of Peter Pan and she cut her hair like Peter's in this movie...and she still has that haircut today. So Mary Martin reminds me so much of my mom...the facial expressions, the hair...wow

  • oh thats a rlly nice memory

  • i'm seriously crying! oh the memories!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Oh, man, I haven't seen this since I was a kid and my GOD how I cried like a baby when Tink drinks that poison!

I'm a grown woman crying and clapping at her laptop! Jeez!

  • Um....yeah, so what happens if Hook suddenly swallows and that poison is still on his tongue? I've had this on video for years, and I've never really understood that.....:/

  • @girlovestacos88 ... I'm bored, so I'm just answering your question - but the poison was made from his tears when his eyes turn blood red when gutting someone. The tears have so much malice in them that they're lethal to everyone else, BUT since the tears/poison originally come from him, it doesn't poison him if he accidentally drinks some.

  • I never realized how much chemistry there was between peter and wendy.

  • a crush?

  • "clap clap DONT LET TINK DIE!!!" that used to make me cry so hard it still does

  • Does anyone know what happen or how i find the song that came after distant melody? It's something about Peter Pan going home and seeing another boy in bed. The door was barred and the window barred....and that's as far as i remember....anyone know that song? it was in our version.

  • *CLAP CLAP CLAP CLAP CLAP CLAP CLAAAAAAAAAAP!*

yayyyyyy I saved tink mommy! =D

  • its suppose to be a play so it looks more natural and not as weird

  • i always clap!

  • Gosh, this is such a wonderful piece about the good and evil, and the transition between childhood and adulthood, and life in general. JM Barrie was a genius.

  • I agree to say he was. The themes are so interesting... I wonder if Barrie was consciously aware of how realistic his work actually is. I mean, considering the kind of childhood he had, I think Peter Pan can be seen as a fascinating illustration of a missing mother and the consequences of that lack of affection in the life of a boy. The author seemed to have PPS himself, which would explain a lot of things in his story... I'll have to read more on the subject, though.

  • i have this on tape when it was on USA in the '80's...i love watching not only this but the old commercials as well..brings back so many memories!!!!!!

  • What does he have medicine for? I've never known and i really want to know.

  • Milk.

  • So it's just milk?

  • almost positive. *grabs copy of Peter Pan and scans it* Ahhh ok well if we want to get technical, in the book it's just water (out of calabash but the "poison" was obviously a red food coloring and milk would be the best choice for it showing up.

  • Okay, thanks.

  • Why is it when Wendy comes into his life he has to start taking medicine all of the sudden? Just give him a flinestone's or somethin.

Luv how slick Hook is slithering his way down the pole.

  • LMAO! I guess they didn't have Flintstone vitamins back then...

  • NO! Those hypocrites advertised cigarettes!

  • i think its just because kids dont like medicine. and she is the adult so she thinks she has to give it it him. its just make believe though. there playing house. but when he wrote the book it was probably just a way that hook could poison peter pan

  • Oh, thanks:)

  • maybe peter pan has ADD

  • lmao!!!

  • this part stoped working O.o

  • I love that someone posted this. My brother and I saw this back in the 80s (he was 8 and I was 3), and I remember it was on ch 4 on NBC a week or so before The Time Taveler show was on ^^ Those were the days lol

  • wow. The Disney Peter Pan leaves out a LOT (read: Almost ALL) of the Wendy-adoration thing.

  • Poor Tootles.....Peter doesn't even shake his hand :'(

  • seriously, wtf Peter?

  • I wonder if Larry Hagman, her son sat in the audience and watched this.

  • ok...i dont like how the pirates have their hands all over Wendy like that...GROSS=S

  • micheal is so cute when says, "and thank you"

  • Let's see now...

The father wants his own daughter to be his mother. Too weird for words.

  • I never knew what Wendy was saying, "Take you up and what you?" sounds like squish you but that can't be right. Is it squeeze you?

  • To: suzyloowho2

I asked myself the same question for yrs but i gave up! lol Let me no if you figure it out! LoL=D

  • no... squiSH him. i don't know why.

  • In the beginning. Peter says nobody ever touches him, but he just shook hands with everyone .....

  • in the script i remember it saying "no human has ever touched me" i think he meant people not from neverland

  • How do you shake two hands at the same time with one hand????

  • pan's got skillz...peter pan's just that good =]

  • yay! i clapped and tink came back to life!

    i love fairys =]

  • I watched this movie when I was a kid and I would always clap, and I was so excited when I saw the entire thing on Youtube. I said to myself that I'm not going to clap because I would just feel silly doing it now that I've grown up, but when I watched it I felt silly not clapping, so I had to watch the whole scene over again so I could clap and help save Tinker Belle.

  • i still clap today ^_^ lol

  • ME TOO!

  • Let's see, the dad is a pirate and Peter is a woman. What were they trying to tell us? Just kidding.

  • I was cynical even at age 4 and used to not clap intentionally. I thought I was so rebellious.

  • [pictures dying fairy clinging to your 4-year-old ankles, gasping "Pleeease...clap"

    "No, I rather think I won't."]

    lolll

  • Peter broke the fourth wall

  • huh?

  • It's a term used in like filming and stuff... the "fourth wall" is the one you can't see because you're looking in, I guess you could say. When an actor looks at or speaks to an audience (or the camera), it is said that he/she "broke the fourth wall."

  • lol i always clap and if not id thro a fit too!!!

  • wow, i teared up. reminds me of when i was little and i used to clap too. even after i'd seen it so many times, i always had to clap just in case.

  • I used to make everyone in the room clap at this part when I was a kid, or I'd have a fit about tink dying.

  • If it wasn't for TinkerBell, Peter would've been poisoned

  • "I do believe in fairies, I do, I do!!!" (claps)

  • I clapped.

    For old times' sake.

  • me 2 ^_^ the ol' classic clap scene ^_^ of coarse lol

    good timez teehee
