@sayrith Not at all. Think of it like phone numbers. You want to know that dialing a given number will reach a certain person and that no two people have the same one - so one or more centralized bodies sharing responsibility need to be giving out the numbers to users. The problem here is that we've run out of unique numbers. Using something called NAT people can share an IP (sort of like having telephone extensions) but with IPv6 that won't be necessary anymore.
what he ment to say is there are. 340- undecillion, 282- decillion, 366- nonillion, 920- octillion, 938- septillion, 463- sextillion, 463- quintillion, 374- quadrillion, 607- trillion, 431- billion, 768- million, 211- thousand, and 456 IPv6 adresses.
@xBloodXGusherx Any computer networking book will give you in-depth information about the whole concept of networking, aka "internet". Personally I suggest this book: "Computer Networking: A Top Down Approach, byJim Kurose, Keith Ross.", it's what I studied at college.
If you're only interested in ipv4/ipv6, just Google: "why do we need ipv6" and you will find many resources that break-down this concept for non-technical-users.
shut this jew motherfucker the fuck up
