  • iam tellin yall i own a 90 SHO and there aint vtec shit that would catch me and were i live at is all those fart cannon vtec bullshit lmao

  • such a nice engine in such a cheap car

  • Not too bad but I thought SHOs were quicker? I Lost track of the SHOs after about 1990ish and I know a 89ish gave my friends1990 5.0 LX one HELL of a run. But not too bad for a "family" sedan

  • @Locruid They're pretty tied if they're both in decent condition, the 1989 SHO and 1997 SHO have about the same acceleration. The 1997 SHO has a 3.4L V8, for a 3.4L it puts out decent power.

  • Hey you know if use your first gear that fucker will CLimb hard up to 55 mph then rocket into secong a shoot up to 88

  • the gen3 sho isnt a 1/4 mile car. the gen3 sho, shows its might from 75-150. most cars dont want to race a sho from those speeds. also, it shouldve been called a sho gt cuz its a bad ass on the track. it has one of the most sophisticated suspensions in the world. the s.a.r.c. system. every point of the car rides independently. in 99 it was an option. my v8 sho does 0-60 in 4.5 secs. mine you dont want to race period. my v8 has teamed up with 2- 1.7l turbos. hence the name shobra.

  • My Pontiac sunfire 2.2 l would kill this slow asss !!!

  • @masonc531 I would like to see this.

  • @masonc531 Nope. It wouldn't.

  • your 35-65 was only a second quicker than my 97 vulcan. Now i dont feel so bad.

  • @94crapalier so to eliminate as much error as possible (and for a little fun), I busted out a stopwatch... I timed your Vulcan for 3 runs and consistently got right around 9 sec (9.06, 8.87, 8.96). I did 3 runs for my SHO and was near 7 sec for all three runs (6.89, 7.10, 7.07) ... One could argue "1 second, 2 seconds, it's all the same", but keep in mind that gives a 100% margin of error...

But the real lesson: This doesn't prove Vulcans aren't that slow. It proves SHO's aren't that fast XD

  • @bigtex144 yeah ha. i get what you're saying. and even though SHO's aren't "that" fast, they have a badass V8 exhaust note and that secondary sounds SICK!

  • @bigtex144 Not to mention, your SHO had 108k at the time of your vid, and my Vulcan had 190k at the time of my vid. But i'm definitely not trying to argue, just sayin.

  • @94crapalier lol yeah I agree completely, the intake note if phenomenal!

  • 0:05 sure you dont have a Vtec there?

  • @Motorfordtoyota haha I know right? My friend had a 98 Prelude at the same time I had this car, and it had DOHC VTEC, so that just made it even more ironic. But never knew shorty intake runners could make such a noise difference!

  • @bigtex144 lol, I hate Hondas.

  • @bigtex144 Damn my 2nd gear tops out at 64 mph.

  • @Motorfordtoyota The system called VTEC refers only to Honda. rotfl

  • @Russian601 If you think you think that I think this car actually has VTEC then your stupid. This is a Yamaha 3.4l v8 with an active intake with long runners for low end torque, and ram air runners for top end hp. That is what gave it the vtec sound.

  • Wow that was slow for a SHO.

  • @MrMercLover note the title: "2nd gear run". Not meant to be fast, just wanted people to hear the motor through the entire rev range. Watch my 0-120 vid (on the sidebar) for a slightly brisker run :D

  • Nice, like the sound too. Do you have your cams welded?

  • Thanks! I don't own the car anymore but I was aware of the whole cam issue thing. Pretty unfortunate for an otherwise bulletproof engine.

  • @bigtex144 Well, you know how Toyota has the same problem. I think it can be traced to Yamaha, cause, Yamaha makes alot of Toyota's engines. Weird!
