As a matter of fact, it doesn't - they said at one point in an interview 6 or 7 years ago that games 1 and 2 were (plot-wise) prologues for the "real events yet to come".

@ZikicaKikica It's not a new storyline, this was stated at the beginning of the first game from the Kraiden and/or The Wise One, I know Kraiden stated this happening but I'd have to go back and confirm from The Wise One. So they're basing it off that theory not a new storyline and reason being for new characters. Isaac absorbed Golden Sun which basically makes him hax and OP so a new cast IS needed.

Technically, it IS a new storyline, since it's (likely) not a direct continuation from the last game - but yeah, it doesn't kill the point of having GS3, as they WERE planning it when they plotted out the originals.

@pekar5 You haven't played the first 2 Golden Suns, huh? Or Chrono Trigger? Or old Zelda games? Graphics mean NOTHING if you can nail the aesthetic of a game with STYLE and gameplay. Games can still be buggy, still have crummy VA's, OST's, plots, etc. This isn't coming from a fanboy, though I shouldn't have to announce I use my PS3 more than the others, and I've seen "stiff" Sony/MS games.

In short, please play Chrono Trigger or Golden Sun, before claiming an entire company to be "useless crap"

The title is a WIP title. There will probably be a 2nd title when the game finally gets released. The main character looks like Isaac, because it is his son. And I'm not sure about what one other character is, but he looked suspiciously much like Garet, but ofcourse it's not him, since he'd have to be really old. There were actually some new summons, cause I saw Eclipse, Ramses and Atalanta, but also some chick riding a unicorn making a wave, which isn't Nereid at all. Not a remake to me.

To be honest, I hope that this is not the final version. Don't get me wrong, I'm very excited that Golden Sun DS is coming out, but the graphics in the first two were just so polished and beautiful and really pushed the limits of the GBA, but those summons for example were just meh.
