I really don't know, I'm thinking I don't have appropriate shoes, without shoes I can't set much power with the sliding technique, with shoes, I can't 'feel' my pedal
@stannergyxD Well, it depends. I saw Vinnie Colaiuta playing with Chucks and boots, he played well with both. I like lighter shoes, but I don't like to play barefoot. I use fighting shoes or Chucks to play the drums, it feels the best for me. Try to play w/shoes and w/out shoes to find which way is the best for you. There are no rules.
@1982Rafael Thanx for the quick response! I also tighten the spring of my pedal very low to medium.
But I didn't get to apply this technique till yet. But your vid clearly shows, that it's possible to apply it on any pedal. I bought a Yamaha Direct drive because I thought it would do all the work for me. HA, epic fail! ;)
@EvolRogg You're welcome, you got a great pedal. I also have a Gibraltar Intruder Direct Drive pedal.
The P100-101 from Pearl are my favorites. Those Yamaha models from the 90's also are great pedals (double chain models). I'm back to my Pearl Eliminator now, using low spring tension and the red cam.
When Jojo Mayer came to Brazil he was using an old Sonor pedal, as old as mine here on this video and he played perfectly.
Yeah, Jojo Mayer has perfect foot technique. I didn't see anyone doing single foot patterns like him.
Single Foot Single Paradiddle at a Nerve gig I went to! Any questions? ;)
I guess you should watch out for the Vector-Pedal. I've never tried one, but I think this pedal is really a little revolution in drumpedal manufacturing. Greez
You're my favorite drummer to watch on YouTube...period. I've been tuning into your videos for about a year now and it's always inspirational. I would kill to have your foot.
@casamino Hi, I did a short video today to show you the technique, it is uploading and it will take an hour to be online. It is the same idea of the moeller motion.
Great drumming, I envie it!!
I'm trying to learn some single pedal drum techniques
stupid question:
shoes?
or
no shoes?

What about spring tension? Sick foot-technique dude!
EvolRogg 10 months ago
@EvolRogg Thanks! It is medium tight here on this pedal (14 years old spring). I prefer very low tension on my pedals.

This pedal just makes sense!

@EvolRogg Very interesting. I would like to try that one someday. There is one from Sleishman that also seems to be comfortable to play.

@purphanz Thanks! It is a triplet pattern, divided in heel-down, toe, toe, like those moeller triplets on the hand
1982Rafael 1 year ago
@1982Rafael yeah - i've always thought bonham does a little of that towards the end of black dog...
purphanz 1 year ago
@purphanz I think Bonham played the last two notes of the triplets. He also played some in "Good Times, Bad Times"
