@LINYVideo Does your new digital camcorder have night shot that's as good as this video? If so, what model is it? And does the night shot work when you zoom in or out?
UV will cause cataracts and stuff, Visible light will blind you, and IR can blind you just like light, just not as fast...
...And you won't notice until its too late (your eyes focus IR light on your retina almost like regular light, and it causes it to burn, better to be safe than sorry)
thats night vision not infrared. night vision you are able to see in the dark infrared you are able to see heat night vision you see some kind of ray reflecting i dont remember which one though
It is a night vision camera with a piece of infrared pass gelatin in front of the lens. What you are seeing is light lower than 780nm, which is infrared. The term infrared covers a wide spectrum of wavelengths bridging the gap between visible red and microwaves. Leaves on trees and grass reflect infrared light at 780nm giving a snowy appearance. The cameras that can see heat radiation at night are thermal camera's. Don't have one, wish I did. Very expensive.

I bought it at a camera shop in NYC a long time ago, don't remember how much it cost. Around $40 I think for a 70mm square.

This was an old tape camera I had with some sort of night vision capabilities. I've since gone digital, much better quality.

IR can blind you fast if you stare into the sun with them on. Very cool Vid. Where can I get those filters?
bossoholic 2 years ago
I bought the gelatin filters a long time ago at a camera shop in Manhattan. Photographers use them for infrared photography.
