They're too young and (still) too amateurish to perform their ambitious material. To pull off complicated, multi-layered rocksong like "The Promise" or "Moving to Seatlle" live you need musicianship, experience and good technicians. Bands like Queensryche or The Foo Fighters do it, The Material don't do it (yet).

You're right. The performance is a disappointment when you know the studio version. They just don't pull it off, the singer doesn't hit the notes, and the stage performance is pathetic. Never mind. Their records are good, so they'll just have to practice live.

Dont criticize a band if youve never been in one. A day to remember does the same thing in A Shot in the Dark but it doesnt mean they cant do it, singing is alot harder than you can ever imagine. Especially like that!

well, yeah, you have know idea how hard, or easy it is to play music unless you can play it yourself, look at classical music for example, people today may think it sucks because it's not like today's music. classical music can get way out of hand and nearly impossible to play(llike the flight of the bumblebee i.e.) once you can play it, you have a totally diferent perspective on it.

if you want the heavy metal sound use the right guitar- not a fender. and set up the metal sound on the amp... dont use a pick.

Claudio Sanchez (The lead singer) made a science fiction story called "The Bag.On.Line Adventures" (later renamed The Amory Wars) where the story's two protagonists were called coheed and cambria. So they named there band after a stupid story made they made up. In my eye thats equivalent to people making starwars tribute a band so you have no place to be stereotyping

It's is the factor the they made the band base on a story they made. And last time I checked Rush and The Mars Volta didn't make up a story and just make a band based on it. And as far as music comes yeah he can play but he's not a musician he's can't read music and most of he chords are fake and and the ones that are actual chords are tritoned so yeah that sucks. The only thing he has going for him are the scales
