  • this is. wow :D

  • I feel this hard to figure out how it works. Though you gave me inspiration for a similar idea........just need the parts...

  • hey could you send me some bluepritsz for this i am trying to make one my self but it isint working verry well:/ if you could that would be great!\

  • fecking amazing :-)

  • Lol how much free time do you have?

  • @iCrack101

I dont have much free time at all. If you check the dates on these vids, you can see I haven't done anything with them for about nine months.

  • @AviatorBJP can you make a instructin video because we cant figure out how u maade it and its cool

  • Flappy paddle gearbox! YES! But really, I would pay to see how to make this!

  • I want to see some paddle shifters. AMAZING.

  • I want tutorial! I want make it! I must have it! ;-)

  • a quick suggestion for a more compact design, maybe line the flywheel up next to the gear box? would make the chasis a bit wider but would be shorter... or possibly rotate the flywheel 90 degrees? i really like this design. i may try building one for a remote control car :D

  • @corebob I am building one too!

  • genius

  • It looks like not much force is needed to shift gears, in which case you would have a problem when the thing is actually moving as opposed to being stationary on a treadmill. What is to stop it from automatically shifting due to the mechanism's inertia, when the car accelerates? Or if the power source is to be mounted at the front, will the 'flywheel' mechanism produce enough force to overcome the inertia of the shaft used to shift gears?

  • original not orrigonal. It's driving me crazy.

  • nice awesome, using the centrifugal force like a real auto transmission, never w[would of though of doing it on a lego car in a million years

  • Take a remote control car apart and attach the motors to it!

  • @pendejadafcc why take a rc car apart? there are many motors from lego which can do this job very good!

  • @Hikar75 For the wireless control.

  • @pendejadafcc there are a remote control and a receiver from lego which are connectable to the lego motors. i think this would work better!

  • how much were the lego pieces?

  • patent this design and sell it to lego and make mass production of the lego automatic transmission or something like that or make a better version on a scale sized car or something. Maybe you already have =P

  • @DrummerMcGee *automatic transmission with manual override...

  • @DrummerMcGee and do it quick boy

  • last version seemed to have smoother manual shift?

  • dude this is epic if u can build a complete working lego car one day u should suggest it to lego and get big buck for designing a lego

  • The world wants instructions! Seriously though, that is AMAZING.

  • nerd power to u my friend. the force is strong with this one

  • Does it shift on its own??

  • @SuperMustangDude

Yep, it shifts automatically and incorperates a manual overide as well.

  • @AviatorBJP A man that's awesome. How did you get it to shift on its own? I am currently building a baking soda/ vinegar powered engine and want both a manual and automatic transmission for it.

  • @AviatorBJP wow, thats amazing! how do u build that kind of thing?

  • that is freakin awesome!
