The one thing that I dislike is the camera change at 2:36 . Obviously its a second take. But anyway he performed the trick very well and its a funny trick

he needs to remember the sequence. let's simplify it to A-B-C-D-E. after the deck is cut no matter how many times, the sequence isn't shuffled, it's circle shifted to, say, C-D-E-A-B. now all he needs is to distract people's attention, sneak to see one card, realize where he's at in the sequence and cut the deck so that he's back to A. and that's what he does at 2:42. of course you need skill to cut to A, but it's no magic.

Card tricks are only great when there are no cameras around.

@RoyalCaoCao the hand trick is so simple. It's classic misdirection. When he says, "just clench your fist mate" he pulls his hands apart, points at the crowd, then puts them back together in a way that lets him turn his wrist. classic and so simple.

The "What the Hell?" card at 1:52 is located right above the Twitter symbol in the share button. See that space? That's where the What the Hell is. The only flaw in the trick is that you can see part of the H.The card's facing right horizontal, so that the What is facing to the right from the camera. Other than that, great trick. I love playing a similar card trick on my friends. The presentation is amazing, too. Bravo.

@bumblefoot2004 It's a stripper deck that's been cut on the short edge rather than the long edge. Stripper decks are cards that have one edge cut different than the other so when they're put in the deck the opposite way you can feel the edge.

the face side of the cards have different numbers on the top or on the bottom, so when he showed everyone that they are normal cards, he just showed the top that is normal. but the bottom of the cards have the numbers lined up, which is the side that he showed.

@J0kerofHearts That would be way too difficult to preserve the cut. With a stripper deck so long as the cards don't get inverted it won't matter where you cut or how you shuffle then can be easily reordered. That is why a short edge rather than a long edge cut is used for this particular trick.

@peart The point isn't the fucking trick, it's how fucking well he pulls it off. It was an amusing and original presentation using some very bog-standard methods. Penn & Teller got huge not by doing Copperfield's gags but by exposing them AND doing it even classier.

He re-cut the cards after the audience members cut them. Obviously, he had to know the order perfectly so the only way for the trick to work is if he distracted the audience with story. If you watch closely you can see him re-cut the cards after an he tells an audience member to cut them.

Ever heard of a mnemonic? You make up a story about a large sequence of cards. He has the deck ordered after doing a certain type o shuffle that is used to stack a deck with poker hand winning hands. He makes up a story about the order of the cards and tells the audience.

His false cuts and shuffles are the skill here, not the memorization.
