Holy crap! Night After Night! I used to watch this on the (pre-Comedy Central) Ha! Network in Anchorage, Alaska, summer of '90. Allen Havey so funny - loved his "Audience of One."
Lucky you! where on earth did you see them? I want to see those so badly, I'm in the process of getting a bootleg version of Chafed Elbows but other than that his earlier works are impossible to find.
sorry took so long to reply... didn't notice your comment
here in cleveland we have a wonderful facility called The Cleveland Cinemateque part of The Cleveland Institute of Art...
end of 2008 they had a weekend dedicated to Mr. Downey's films... i think they showed 5 or 6... well worth the $20 i paid to see those two films on one night... if ever in my city you should google it cuz the director John Ewing has amazing taste
Btw.. I forgot Sturges did The Lady Eve I FKNG adore Barbara Stanwyk
I wonder how Robert Jr.'s mother is, seeing as Robert is always cracking jokes, so casual and intriguing and his father seems so composed. They bred the greatest son alive, the most talented the most handsome and so much more.
@Rarab2 Definitely. But not just "a little". Robert Downey is one or the greatest cult filmmakers ever, together with Paul Bartell, Russ Meyer, the Kuchar brothers, Stan Brakhage and, with John Waters, one of the few living ones.
His son is so much sexier

You know he isn't just "Robert Downey Jr's dad". The guy deserves a little more credit than that.
