Here in norway.. weve got Porsche underground trains.. search on google.. T-bane.. those white ones.. "if u see some red.. They where used 5 years ago.. Now england bought them.. lol just jokin"
I love traveling by train in london when Im there .. but I was really shocked when I read yesterday on a screen that a person got hit .. :/ I heard that happens quite often huh .. ppl who dont wanna live anymore?!
"Up / Down" creates confusion with the old British Rail way of identifying a train's direction. "Up" trains were those heading towards London and "Down" trains headed away. So, a train from Euston to Liverpool would be described as a "Down" train, whereas a train from Manchester to Euston would be described as an "Up" train. London Underground never adopted this as nearly all lines, including the Piccadilly, go through London and thus are both Up and Down at different stages of their journey.
@lgu954k - In Queensland, as a general rule, Up trains run "up the country" and Down trains run "down to the port". The only place where trains leaving in both directions are Up trains is Cairns, in far northern Queensland. In Brisbane, a train can start at Shorncliffe (or Caboolture or Ferny Grove), run through Central and Roma Street and finish up at Ipswich (or Cleveland or Beenleigh) and still be an Up train all the way.
The "Eastbound / Northbound" debate regarding the Piccadilly Line has been going on for years - London Transport, later London Underground Limited, insist on "Eastbound" - which is technically stupid. Cockfosters is the second most Northerly station on the network (Epping on the Central Line being the first) - despite this, it is only about 12 miles East of Rayners Lane, the original "Westbound" terminus of the line. Maybe "Westbound" (Uxbridge) "Northbound" (Cockfosters) would be correct...
hi lgu954k! i have to admit your comment was very informative! i truly did not know that my mistake was actually part of a long debate! it does make sense too, as i got so used to refer to places according to the postal code and saying northbound/southbound makes way more sense for the piccadilly line! anyway... thanks!
@lgu954k@rodrigofquinteiro - In some rail systems, particularly in North America, the terms "Eastbound" and "Westbound" are used the same way other rail systems use the terms "Up" and "Down" - it merely describes the running direction on a particular line, not necessarily referenced to the actual compass direction.

I can't stand it when you innocently do things like this and then London Underground staff get all up themselves and say no you can't film or take photos on their property. I am fascinated with the history of the tube and it would be a natural want to film parts of it. Good for you mate.
@timosebi2 It's the idiots fault in the first place for using the tube with a broken leg and being likely to fall over, if the person had to use the tube for whatever reason he could use another station with a closer distance between train and platform
@Tolu1994 I live in Barcelona, Spain. I love trains and thanks a lot to the uploader for sharing this piece to me. The fact that this is "your" station doesn't mean that this video is only for you. Don't like it? Don't look at it.

@jack253 That would be awesome. And I will make the travel to be in London that day even if I live in Canada. I'm from Paris originaly and our "Metro" turned 100 years in July 2000. At some occasions, they bring back the old rolling stocks from the 30s/40s with wooden seats on 2nd class and cushioned seats on 1st class. That was a very great thing and to let people seeing and traveling what the trains looked like before the automatizations and modern cars.
Yes, you are right; there are some huge gaps on the London Underground.
.
Have you been to Bank Station, or some others, where there is a continuous recorded announcement, saying simply, -in schoolmaster style voice: Mind The Gap!

Maybe the recording is findable on You-Tube, if not I shall record it for your good self if you wish.
.
The London Underground has data on the people who accidentally fall down the gap hole eg. folk with just slight vision problems, etc.
