People can make Shenmue 3 happen , unfortunately there is not nearly a patch on enough people at the moment to get Sega taking us seriously. Lots of people = Profit to businesses like Sega and they have to think financially sadly after bad times not long ago. We need 500k to a few million Shenmue fans/ gamers to really do something, but it's not impossible as some people are saying.

If you sell the game to some other company especially some of these new game programmers, they want to release the game too soon and then you have loads of bugs and stuff. shenmue 1 and 2 were good games because there was hardly an issue of bugs, patches or any sorts. Due to the fact that both games took years in the making.

Shenmue's storyline is all mapped out, or most of it is (doubtless there would be some changes and tweaks in the process of production).
It would be easiest to port it to the Wii, as all they would need to do is maybe up the polygon count a little. Making it on 360 and PS3 would be hugely expensive, given the amount of detail required for the environments and character models and textures.
Sega made a big mistake giving MS exclusive US rights to Shenmue 2. They should have ported multi-format.

This game was way ahead of its time...nothing else like Shenmue existed at the time i mean yeah sure you had games like Zelda and FF7 but they are no where near as awesome as this game...its basically a living breahing town that changes every day. It was to damn awesome.

The footage is taken from the Shenmue Premiere which happened before the release of Shenmue 1. This just shows how far that $70 million dollars spent producing the game actually went and I actually reckon there is some form of Shenmue 3 already done. We know the story is done for sure and there are a couple of screens floating around the net showing Ryo in various places! Very interesting stuff!
Please check out Ockman27 who has recently published three full length live action movies of Shenmue and the third is the original imagining of the story conclusion. Fan movie done with excellent acting and direction and camerawork, not to be missed fan movie with humour and excitment and hollywood special effects too. All the main Shenmue characters interact in this funny and nostalgic epic.
I just did the Japanese magazine Maitsuki bought, and there is inside that sega shenmue 3 will publish. shenmue 3 is scheduled for February 2010, in the usual manner Dreamcast exclusive for the Playstation 3, SEGA SONY together with work on this project. I think that is a very good message. it is also there, it was not a fake. reads the current journal Maitsuki! I am very pleased to Shenmue III ever rejoice in the showdown against lan di, or new qte and everything is shenmue.

Hardly anyone owns a PS3 they need to finish the story on either 360 (since that's the only other non-Sega console Shenmue has appeared on) or make it multiplatform (360, PS3, and PC) so that everyone can be satisfied. Besides that developing on PS3 is a b**** to develop for 360's easiest.
lol, It's not that hard to develop software for the PS3 actually, and you'd be surprised how many people actually own the system. Still, a multiplatform release would be nice.

I agree PC would be a better choice for this game. Would it ease or complicate things for Sega & AM2? Would AM2 develop the engine port?
Playstation 3? I can see Sony paying a massive amount of money to release Shenmue 3 on their system, but I wouldn't count on their fanbase.
As with the PS1 & 2, Sony has used it's cash to rack up a buttload of 3rd party developers to produce mediocre games. People buy it because it's mainstream; they know no better. That, and the blue ray player.
My mate did that. Played it through Japanese with a Japanese language book manual in hand. When he bought the english version, he returned it in disgust - the voice acting was horrible!!
I thought the voice acting (while not amazing) was acceptable, but apparently, the original was brilliant. Wish I checked that!
If you can prove that's they way many gamers prefer it then I'll salute you myself lol. Installing games on your system lessens their load times. Besides looks like somebody didn't do their homework; the PS3 has optional installation as well.
(I'd love it to be on 360, but if I'm honest with myself and Sega can get round the development tools of PS3, I believe it will be technically superior, but I do love my 360 more)
Most games look better one 360 so that's a moot point. Say that after every developer including Sega has learned how to tap the PS3's hardware capabilities. We can't ignore what's current in facts.
Virtua Fighter 5, Sonic The Hedgehog, and Virtua Tennis all look and play better on 360. Remember that, and they are all by Sega so Shenmue 3 would more than likely be the definitive experience on 360. Plus Xbox fans are Shenmue's 2nd largest fansbase compared to Dreamcast.
Ok this is the problem with Shenmue sega would have to make a brand new game engine for the xbox 360, we are talking about million to do this Shenmue 1 and 2 cost sega a massive 70 million usd.
What sega could do is keep the old dreamcast development tools and port the game over to the 360 i know the graphics would not be the best but least the game would be developed.
Heres a better idea. They could develop for the Wii which SEGAs games are doing 100 times better with in sells. Why are people so hellbent on having this for the 360. It will not sell.
The majority of people that buy 360s didn't buy it for games like this. Games that involving actual thinking in plot. They want fast paced action and shooting or flashy magic effect and huge battles, not searching for search and learn type gameplay.
The 360 is the worst choice of systems for Shenmue
Same goes for Wii. At least 75% of people who own are Wii are considered mainstream. And if it wasn't obvious enough, something foreign and complex would hurt the brain of an idiot (American.)
IMO. The best console for player diversity and sales would either be the PS3 or PC; possibly both. But regardless of the players, we need to think how much will be spent and how much will be earned with this game.
Well, most people have xbox360 so that's the reason. Like I would never have played Shenmue had it not been for an xbox port. I would never buy a dreamcast for that matter.

I just did the Japanese magazine Maitsuki bought, and there is inside that sega shenmue 3 will publish. shenmue 3 is scheduled for February 2010, in the usual manner Dreamcast exclusive for the Playstation 3, SEGA SONY together with work on this project. I think that is a very good message. it is also there, it was not a fake. reads the current journal Maitsuki! I am very pleased to Shenmue III ever rejoice in the showdown against lan di, or new qte and everything is shenmue.

Hardly anyone owns a PS3 they need to finish the story on either 360 (since that's the only other non-Sega console Shenmue has appeared on) or make it multiplatform (360, PS3, and PC) so that everyone can be satisfied. Besides that developing on PS3 is a b**** to develop for 360's easiest.

I agree PC would be a better choice for this game. Would it ease or complicate things for Sega & AM2? Would AM2 develop the engine port?
Playstation 3? I can see Sony paying a massive amount of money to release Shenmue 3 on their system, but I wouldn't count on their fanbase.
As with the PS1 & 2, Sony has used it's cash to rack up a buttload of 3rd party developers to produce mediocre games. People buy it because it's mainstream; they know no better. That, and the blue ray player.

My mate did that. Played it through Japanese with a Japanese language book manual in hand. When he bought the english version, he returned it in disgust - the voice acting was horrible!!
I thought the voice acting (while not amazing) was acceptable, but apparently, the original was brilliant. Wish I checked that!

If you can prove that's they way many gamers prefer it then I'll salute you myself lol. Installing games on your system lessens their load times. Besides looks like somebody didn't do their homework; the PS3 has optional installation as well.

Most games look better one 360 so that's a moot point. Say that after every developer including Sega has learned how to tap the PS3's hardware capabilities. We can't ignore what's current in facts.
Virtua Fighter 5, Sonic The Hedgehog, and Virtua Tennis all look and play better on 360. Remember that, and they are all by Sega so Shenmue 3 would more than likely be the definitive experience on 360. Plus Xbox fans are Shenmue's 2nd largest fansbase compared to Dreamcast.

Ok this is the problem with Shenmue sega would have to make a brand new game engine for the xbox 360, we are talking about million to do this Shenmue 1 and 2 cost sega a massive 70 million usd.
What sega could do is keep the old dreamcast development tools and port the game over to the 360 i know the graphics would not be the best but least the game would be developed.

Heres a better idea. They could develop for the Wii which SEGAs games are doing 100 times better with in sells. Why are people so hellbent on having this for the 360. It will not sell.
The majority of people that buy 360s didn't buy it for games like this. Games that involving actual thinking in plot. They want fast paced action and shooting or flashy magic effect and huge battles, not searching for search and learn type gameplay.
The 360 is the worst choice of systems for Shenmue

IMO. The best console for player diversity and sales would either be the PS3 or PC; possibly both. But regardless of the players, we need to think how much will be spent and how much will be earned with this game.

Jeeze, I want Shenmue 3 to come out soo bad...I'll admit i'm not the greatest when seeing all the symbolism in the game but i will also admit i'm compleatly in love with the series. This game is the sole reason why i keep my dreamcast. I've played them both upwards of 5 times and i want the story to come to some sort of conlclution or hell, go to Shenmue 100 for all i care i just want some more! let me endulge in the Shenmue goodness!!!!!!!!!!!
