Although i do see where IBM is coming from when they say humans & computers will work together... i don't think humans need to be part of the equation... at least in finance... it has been shown that the best and brightest are no good at predicting the future (i.e. whether the market will goes up or down).... it is uncertain... so in this case it would make no difference if we added a human in the equation as the computer has already take all the data and make the optimal decision using the data
But to control all of this, for a person to be able to get all this information, wouldn't that put huge demands on some sort of software? A softwear where you're acctually able to read all of the data, that can acctually tell me that I need to wake up and wich fairy to take? I smell fail already....
Yes, I agree with your idea Adam. Your contents are compelling itself and the idea of the video reflects facts considering the current system of the Internet and Social media.
Oh, I was just shooting from the hip, pay me no mind. I really enjoyed your Internet of Things video. Job well done. I'm just bitter and remorseless. You understand.
@MatrixManAtYrService Machines are not free, we humans need to be free to "be complexe and unpredictable" so I don't agree with you, we humans are humans not "machines working on biological hardware" as you state. Stating or accepting the fact that we are machines is declining the concept of individuality and the concept of humanity.
Is this a themed video? Emphasize that humans will never be replaced by computers? IBM the people company. lol I bet this is made for idiots isn't it. Probably business management.
Lord Java: Possibly made by idiots, but certainly not for idiots. When I was recording the interviews for this video, I did have in the back of my mind a handful of the comments posted in reaction to The Internet of Things video where a few viewers mentioned their fear of modern tech. It came up in the conversations captured, and made the cut. No great conspiracy here, we are just a couple of people trying to make compelling content.
What about privacy? Do we really want cameras and sensors everywhere, making every little thing we do fully visible to any centralized organization of any kind? Nobody's worried about computers taking over - it's the people that I'm worried about! Don't prove George Orwell right
@djNerd42 Yes, we do want transparency. We want it for us, we want it for our leaders, we want it for businesses, we want everyone to be accountable for their impact on society. It's not 1984, it's the 21st century. This is not a decision, it's a necessity of a complex system, there must be order.
Hmm the background @ 2:03 reminds me of the serial experiments: lain intro. A lot of this seemed lain-like. Especially from 3:16 until the end; I was thinking: "Oh my goodness, it's the wired! It's coming!"
Some cool thoughts/ramblings from IBM.
(I wonder if anyone who helped create this was a fan?)

"An organization would be this striking mixture of people and software and hardware"
Isn't a person just a striking mixture of software running on biological hardware?

George Orwell was right the instant he wrote 1984. Let's move on.
