A purely linguitic remark: "revert" means "go back to" in English. The people you are talking about CONverted to islam. Only a Moslem who apostasized and then repented could be said to REvert to Islam!

On the face of it, You are right. Anyone changing religion would be a convert to his new relgion. But, in Islam we do have a belief that all humans are born "Muslims" meaning in a state of submission to God which is what Islam means. and hence the REVERT part. Peace!

True, the Islamic faith 'appears' somewhat dogmatic to some.

But that is not the fault of Islam. And neither is God's message in The Al Quran appears in any way as being dogmatic.

Perhaps some Islamic Theologians have made Islam appear (to non-Muslims), as such.

My parents are not strongly against Islam, they just are questioned about why I choose it. I have read most of The Quran, I have read the history of Islam, and many books about modern day Islam across the world.
