The National Day of Silence brings attention to anti-LGBT name-calling, bullying and harassment in schools. Each year the event has grown, now with hundreds of thousands of students coming together to encourage schools and classmates to address the problem of anti-LGBT behavior.

Well, as far as the old Mosaic laws go at least (which virtually no Christians follow any more). Everything else has more to do with condemnations of pagan sex rituals than anything to do with modern gay couples.

I would just like to say that God created these people. He created homosexuals. It was his will for them to be like this. No one chooses to be gay. God did no create homosexuals. Homosexual behavior is a choice. God created human beings with the correct anatomy to engage in heterosexual sex, to bond, and to assure the survival of the human race, He then instructed them how to live and how not to live.

The law strictly proscribed homosexuality and Christ endorsed Levitical law in Matt 5:18. Christians follow the "New Covenant/Testament", Christ instructs Christians that whoever is without sin should cast the first stone.

To be honest you sound pretty heartless. I lived in lower manhattan on 9/11, i was in 4th grade and I saw the people jumping from the buildings so don't ever say that i don't know about the victims. No one has silenced the victims of tragedies, no one has told them they shouldn't exist, that they are sick for just being who they are.How can you compare such radically different things? School shooting victims do not have their rights taken away, as i said they are not hated for being who they are. The world has not stopped caring about any of those victims, people still mourn them everyday, maybe not you. Also I am not gay, so I am not only caring for myself.

Again, there is no proof, whatsoever, that homosexuality is genetic/innate. Even the the American Psychological Association (APA) has admitted that fact in its redent brochure, on the subject.

Not THAT rare, especially when comparing it to homosexuality. And of course it applies. These people claim that "God" (whatever god(s) it is) that he/she can't make a "mistake" when it comes to physically apparent gender and the judged sexuality of that.

There is no proof that it is fully genetic (or at least a simple Mendelian trait), but there is plenty showing it is VERY innate in almost all cases. I know what APA says.

Well, as far as the old Mosaic laws go at least (which virtually no Christians follow any more). Everything else has more to do with condemnations of pagan sex rituals than anything to do with modern gay couples.
But yea, until they start forcing single rape victims to marry their attackers, killing disobedient children or those that work on Sunday, barring the physically and mentally handicapped or injured from church, and other things their bible demands ... they are just hypocrites to me.

I would just like to say that God created these people. He created homosexuals. It was his will for them to be like this. No one chooses to be gay. Why would you if you were to be hated, harrassed and sometimes killed? Do you believe that to be fun? I don't think it is. So, just remember God wished them to be this way. Maybe it was to teach people not to judge others, because we all know that to be his job, not ours.

God did no create homosexuals. Homosexual behavior is a choice. God created human beings with the correct anatomy to engage in heterosexual sex, to bond, and to assure the survival of the human race, He then instructed them how to live and how not to live.
He was clear that some behaviors were sinful, and He included homosexual BEHAVIOR.

Yes. I am referring to the Laws of the "Old Testament" (previously imposed prescriptions).
Matt 5:18 "For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by no means pass from the law till all is fulfilled."
The law strictly proscribed homosexuality and Christ endorsed Levitical law in Matt 5:18. Christians follow the "New Covenant/Testament", Christ instructs Christians that whoever is without sin should cast the first stone.

That is an absurd statement. I also beleive that silence should be reserved for honorung our fallen, such as the troops, police, firefighters, etc, who die in their line of duty.
Too often people allow their religion get in the way of their judgement. Hate because of an unchangeable trait is unexcusable, and in the case of the comment below mine, I bet you had to search for hours to find crimes committed by gay/lesbian people.

To be honest you sound pretty heartless. I lived in lower manhattan on 9/11, i was in 4th grade and I saw the people jumping from the buildings so don't ever say that i don't know about the victims. All i am saying is that nobody hates victims, and rightfully so. But again you really are comparing apples and oranges. Meanwhile, I am not gay. The 9/11 victims have a voice.
No one hates them for who they are, same as the troops, the colombine and virginia tech victims. Those people are seen as heros and rightfully so. The Day of Silence is to memorialize the gay people who are silenced by homophobia. No one has silenced the victims of tragedies, no one has told them they shouldn't exist, that they are sick for just being who they are.How can you compare such radically different things? I just don't understand the ignorance or hate.

School shooting victims do not have their rights taken away, as i said they are not hated for being who they are. The world has not stopped caring about any of those victims, people still mourn them everyday, maybe not you. Also I am not gay, so I am not only caring for myself.
