  • Why can't he admit its socialism? If Larry OD can admit he is a socialist, Culberson can say these bankrupt ponzi scheme programs are socialist.

  • Ugh, I am a lefty but that guy is a really bad interviewer.

  • NO duking it out..The Congressman floored the asshole...but good!

  • "This is why your ratings are in the tank!" So very true.

  • oh that was great

    mslcd hahah

  • I just find it funny how socialist the taxes guy is he needs a Hitler stash lol he likes socialist Medicare system cut waist well if you watch Obama town hall he said wanted to cut waist so both a redud from taxes & Obama feel same way well that is nice glad they are getting along new lie out today about Medicare says wants to cut it back well no wants to give more to doctors & prescription plan so seniors can get meds cheaper but will cut waist that no one is using

  • goodbye msnbc you will not be around much longer.

  • You can't answer complicated questions in simple Yes or No. Congressman Culberson is correct in pointing out why the MSM is considered a joke among the younger generation. Those of us who have grown on on internet and free flow of information see through this garbage. Goodbye MSNBC.

  • Anything that involves more than one person is socialism.

  • I rate it a five bc of the Texan telling this queer why ratings are low for msmbc!

  • I agree with O'Donnell. Social Security and Medicare are Socialism. We need to eliminate those things.

    Ron Paul 2012

  • Actually, there is a very simple answer. One of the principle long-term problems of left-wing (socialist/fascist/etc) "programs" is that they create such wide spread dependency, and concentrated political power, that removing or altering the program becomes a political impossibility.

So no, we are not for removing ss, but we should be against making an even bigger mistake.

Oh, and the congressman did make a mistake. He referred to MSNBC "viewers". It should have been "viewer".

  • Omg, will you people please stop pretending that socialism and fascism are the same thing.

Socialism is left wing, fascism is right wing. They are opposites in every way.

  • And Liberty is another wing entirely which opposes both the Socialist Left and the Fascist Right.

    Ron Paul 2012

  • Creating a political spectrum that has socialism on one end, and fascism on the other, is like trying to fit all colors into a color spectrum that goes from orange to red.

Leaving aside rhetoric, both are driven by the desire for : concentration of power and money into a political elite; complete control over the economy and all aspects of daily life; brutal suppression of dissent; and revenge/blame on perceived enemies/useful scapegoats.

  • You must be thinking of communism (as applied in the real world). Socialism has nothing to do with any of those ideas. Neither does communism (as described by Marx).

  • Well, politicians' policy to the public is socialism. However, their true agenda is fascism. The US have them all ha ha.

  • And his hair color job sucks !!!

  • O'Donnell is a fucking tool !!!!!!!!!!!!

  • The Republicans need to just man up and admit that, yes, SS and medicare ARE socialistic. Their arguments are not intellectually consistent if they cannot admit that. Both SS and medicare need to be RESPONSIBLY phased out. We cannot afford them. In 20 years, the consequences of continuing to try to fund these programs will be very, very ugly.

  • Simple price controls can fix all of that.

  • Price controls on who?

  • Not on who, on what.

On providing insurance through Medicare, for one.

  • I hate to say it but O'Donnell is totally right: republicans are being totally hypocritical by being against "SOCIALISM" but somehow not being against medicare and social security (which are totally socialist).

That's the point O'Donnell is making, Culberson didn't get it.

  • Obviously they're against Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid. The problem is that the government has stolen 12% of people's lifetime earnings already to fund them, so the programs can't just be eliminated without huge election consequences. Likewise just because someone is at the age to be eligible for Medicare and collects doesn't mean they approve of the system like liberals seem to suggest. It means that getting something back from the gov. for their money is better than nothing.

  • Just goes to show if you try in America you can be anything.

O'Donnell tried hard to be an idiot and looks like he succeeded.

  • O'Donnell = MEDIA FAIL.

  • He is right. It is socialism. And if republicans don't stand against it, on principle, they will lose.

  • The interviewer is so low. He should at least give the other guy a chance to say his piece and then make a civil response. I don't really watch MSNBC, but is all of it on such a low standard?

  • This guy doing the interwiew is a piece of shit in my opinion. EVERY, and I do mean EVERY interview I have EVER seen him do with someone who he may disagree with ends with him just talking over the guy he is interviewing. Some questions can be answered with a straight yes or no. But when you ask some questions it is only fair to let the guy you are interviewing elaborate as to explain himself. That is why I no longer take mainstream media seriously.

  • All of those cable political commentators are d-bags, all politicians are scum, and every president sucks.

  • I cannot believe this guy is still on television. What an utterly arrogant, disrespectful and not-very-bright person, with way too much air time. Thank you, Rep. Culberson, for attempting to have a discussion, even though it was not possible.

  • Some republicans say they are against socialism yet when asked to roll it back can't say "yes, but in a methodical manner." They say one thing but do another. He really isn't a constitutionalist if hes for maintaining these socialist programs.

He's another one of these Repuplicans that is trying to jump out in front of the "restore our republic" parade.

  • Don't get me wrong, O'Donnell is a socialist prick. He knows hes a socialist.

Culberson just doesn't know hes not a Constitutionalist and cant stand on principle from an emotional attack.

Ron Paul has never had that problem. He follows his principles even when it's not convenient

Culberson if you really believe in the Constitution grow some balls and call a program socialist when it a socialist program. Otherwise STFU.

  • The problem is that the vast majority of voters support both of these programs (because, of course, they have grown dependent upon them).

I myself am a RP supporter but politics is the art of the possible. You are wasting your breath criticizing Culberson. If we conservatives confine our support to only the tiny handful of Republicans that outright oppose SS or Medicaid, our ideological purity will kill us and the Democrats are going to control Washington for a very long time.

  • Well, most people wouldn't know "ideologically consistent" if they were beaten by it, so I think the Republicans still have a chance, as long as they get more conservative than they have been in the past years.

  • Grow up the republic relies on LIMITED Government this administration and the dems are wanting more and more government so get a new line this bill will sky rocket the size of the Gov and have the gov involved in your lives more then they should

  • Truth. O'Donnell is just taking these guys to task on their lack of principals. That's fine with me.

  • He knows perfectly well that telling his constituents he wanted to take away their Medicare would be the end of his career, so he has to do this pathetic song and dance of pretending that socialized medicine for people over 65 is good, but socialized medicine for people under 65 is pure evil.

It clearly has nothing to do with a genuine ideological position, and everything to do with the fact that Rep. Culberson has taken half a million dollars in insurance industry bribes.

  • Media is gone!
