The tournament itself was all well and good, but due to an oversight in planning in regards to the venue, none of the winners were paid out any of the money. This includes European players who bought plane tickets expecting a return on that investment, particularly Armada who got second in singles and first in teams.

It went for things like paying for the venue. It's not sinister at all, but it still meant people like Armada that were counting on the winnings to make the plane ticket and such worthwhile didn't get paid.

Genesis 2 clearly shows though that it wasn't a killing a blow and that the community is resilient against things like that.

@HBKFAN1414 Good, yes. Even very good. "One of the best" though, particularly with Falco, not quite so much. His Fox is still pretty tight, but his Falco has long been passed on by the likes of Mango, Shiz, Zhu, Chops, ect. He was an innovator to be sure, but it's gone just as Ken to Marth, King to Puff, and so on. Metagame during his peak just isn't comparable to present day.

@brandnew8816 PC does still play. He was at Pound 4. He's still good but he's not top 3. It's questionable if M2K is even top 3 any more, with Mango, HBox, and Armada consistently beating him these days.

You do realize that M2K won the MLG tourney for brawl not to long ago, I think he is focusing more on that game right now. It's hard to stay really good at both games.

Even the announcers wouldn't call Utilt -> Dair or ledgehop Dair a Ken combo, but the fact that there was an Fair in it qualifies it to them.

"A series of Fairs" may be the textbook definition, but an Fair followed by a spike is close enough to be called one in my mind too.

not to take anything away from pc chris, but i felt ken did not play very well in this set, not to his standards at least. he got shield-grabbed a lot, was not very aggressive, and was sloppy off the ledge (for ken).
