  • John Frusciante > Jimmy Hendirx.

  • its like a spirit

  • His voice really flows throught you

  • I don't like the first 1 minute and a half :( wish it started it when the song did, still a brilliant song!

  • Unless its commercialized people just don't get awesome music... I pity these people they miss out... I love John Frusciante's musical genius-ness( i know its not the right word).

  • Thanks for posting this, I tried but Youtube wouldn't let me!

  • intro is just fuckin nasty

  • @FunkyMotherfucker Nasty?

  • @RHCPFreaklol just fuckin sick

  • @pphilli14 ...Just a simple "The intro is awesome" or "Cool" would do.

  • does anyone know what the beggining is supposed to be?

  • @imdaman0000 Just noise. LOL

  • How did this guy manage to bypass the WMG shit? I can't get my John Frusciante videos on Youtube..

  • @DJStimpy Dude, I have a video of how to do it on my channel. It's in the "Copyright" playlist. Besides WMG doesn't own this. WMG doesn't own everything. It's different companies.

  • @RHCPFreaklol

Apparently they do, because they blocked my video of Carvel worldwide.

  • @DJStimpy Just do what my video says and it should work.

  • fuckin brilliant one of my fav albums

  • Can you imagine Navarro tried to fill these shoes?

  • the sound quality on this is awful

  • @stillcole It sounds good to me. John records on old stuff though. He says it speeds up the recording process.

  • same difference?

  • does he do all the instruments in this song? or does he have someone else do the drums or bass?

  • The opener ("Carvel"), an incredible rock bomb that grips the listener and invites to a journey that to the end "The Slaughter".

  • what album is this from?

  • @skizmsucks23 Um... The picture in the video might provide you with a clue...

  • i had heard songs off this album before so i decided to purchase it - totally blew me away this song is an amazing album opening

  • John is so ridiculously talented.

  • @antiemoforce2323 amen to that brother =)

  • I get chills.... I love this man and his art!

  • @RHCPFreaklol

cause he said it in an interview to read somewhere on invisible - movement. net

  • @Jean7767124 Because he's great. Asshole. It's not really for his solo stuff mostly for RHCP dickface.

  • @RHCPFreaklol his solo stuff is fucking incredible, niandra ladies... to record only water... purity at its rawest form!

  • @RHCPFreaklol I dont think so. His solo stuff is way better and more creative... Nevertheless i love rhcp ;)

  • @Jean7767124 how the hell can you not see talent? LOL honestly i'd pay to see anyone of you haters to try and write a song as good as this one.

  • @Jean7767124 The hell are you putting him down for. If you like shitty metalheads where all they do is shred, than you have the wrong idea for a good guitarist. Frusciante is the most musical and puts the most emotion into his work compared to any guitarist today.

  • @Johnfrooshlover I think you should check Paco de Lucía, BB King, Robert Cray, Vicente Amigo, Tomatito... and a lot of really good guitarists who put a lot of emotion in what they do.

  • @Jean7767124 yeah i know..i can't believe he wasn't named the greatest of all time..

  • @Jean7767124 Go listen to your Angus Young, or Zakk Wylde, or add another shitty overatted Guitarist you like. They couldn't begin to even make a hair on John's musical ass.

  • @dbo2k8 Angus Young overatted??? Are you kiddin'???

  • @Jean7767124 This song is way better than lady gaga shit,

where i suppose you listen to, and btw his solo albums are awesome too

  • holy bejesus this song is sooooo awesome!! kill me!

  • jajajajaja unaaa maaaasa johnFru! y los que postean posteaaaan gilaaadas. unaaa masa.

  • rock on mr frusciante, i will always follow your music!

  • I love how he thinks out side the box. his perspective on life is just amazing. hes is one of the most original artist that i love to listen to. just anmazing!!!!

  • Yes, very anmazing, very anmazing indeed...

  • It always seems like he's stopping when it's to "normal", always to challenge himself... another reason to admire him. Wonder why ppl say such things as only jazz or classical musicians have any musical knowledge....

More people should know about John Frusciante!

  • If you want to be a good musician listen to John Frusciante. Simple

  • Indeed, his meloies and felling for music are superb.

  • agree totally

  • @knowledgeisthepower1

I totally agree, bro. Just by listening to him, I've learned so much shit about the guitar that I couldn't even pick up from Hendrix, or Page, or Clapton, or Beck. Frusciante continues to push the art of music forward in our times, the way those people did back then. It's truly inspiring, because he's one of the very few guitarists trying to carve out a new genre, and taking those risks almost always turns out good for him. He's just a true inspiration, that's all.

  • @mussman717word Nice, that woz a grt way of explaining things.

  • he's so much better solo than with RHCP

  • I wouldn't say better, but certainly different. Obviously with the chilies he was less experimental as his music had to work in harmony with the rest of the band. I feel that solo his music is amazing, much more deeper and I feel that what makes him special is that the sounds he makes tells more of a story than the lyrics.

  • thx john ;D

  • Thank you John.

  • He just has a subtle delacacy(sp?) about him. It seems like where other musicians would do a little extra to show off their talent he holds back. It only makes it all the better =)

  • going have to disagree with this respectively of course.

imo john puts everything that matters into his music, he feels the music, and pours his emotion into it which makes it soooo great.

  • love it !

  • I just love 1:36, when the song begins. this is so sick.

John is one of the best musicians of our time.

  • not our time, of all time!

  • @IchBinEuerMann Is a sphere of music flowing trough your ears

  • his music is just perfect

  • love this song!

  • Frusciante does not have either twitter or myspace.

All people who are as famous as him hire people to do all the PR...

  • dude same difference

  • Yeah, what I meant was that it's not HIM on those sites. It's people doing it for him.

  • @holkemann he used to have myspace.. he doesnt anymore?

  • @Lolmeistercom really? weird maybe there doing up his myspace page ? or i dunno lol

  • i read it in a blog or somewhere? I think it was on his myspace. Or i might've made it up lol

    link to twitter?

  • He doesn't like the internet, so he wrote that on Myspace? ...genius.

  • @SnowCadet

as stated before, its not him on those websites, einstein.

  • what is the bubbling?

  • 3:35

    Just love that part. <3

John is the best musician I ever heard (:

    I love him.

  • thank you very much for posting this!

  • I think its really sad he left, but it's best for him. And now he can make solo records much more faster. :) But still kinda sad he quit. I was 6 and since then ive always listened to them... so yeah.. i would mis him in rhcp

  • im really depressed he quitting rhcp i never got to see him live last time they were near me i was 11 and couldnt go.

  • im just hoping that hell have the time to make a new solo record sooner now i know what your saying though i cant beleive he quit

  • yea love the song but the first minute and a half is sounds just like if a T700 from terminater salvation where to have horrid liquid diarea tho, kinda which they could cut that out, kinda like the middle of RHCP's one big mob, love the song hate the middle

  • I've never loved a solo act as much as John. Can't decide whether I'm bumbed that RHCP is effectively over or excited for more John solo work. Either way,... strange times... had to youtube Carvel to deal with it

  • Look at Frusciante's twitter, he said: Thank you every one for your support. I did not leave and look forward to producing more music with RHCP

  • It's not him on Twitter.

  • Yeah i know, i noticed it yesterday. But it gave me hope.. and i wanted to give other people hope too. anyway he quit so..

  • frusciante doesn't really like the internet that much, so i doubt he has a twitter account

  • What, hes quitting??

  • Yes, we'll have to see who plays with them at Musicares.

  • how you know??

  • lol Are you asian?

  • i am so gonna miss him, the red hot chili peppers will not be the same even if josh klinghoffer takes over

  • Fucking savage song

  • i listened to this album when i was 3,000 miles from home driving up Glacier National Park and it made me feel so connected to everything

  • Hell yeah dude, you've explained drugs:)

  • i like this better than the acoustic version.

  • awesome:

  • the intro reminds me a little of pink floyd.

  • just beautiful ;)

    i love john lol

  • This song is completely badass.

  • haha! jokes :)

  • Think for a second KArmaa2468 If you did as much heroin as John did then you would be dead!! It's is amazing he surrvvived such a strong addiction...

  • John Frusciante synthesizer, bass, guitar, keyboards, vocals, producer, art direction

Josh Klinghoffer synthesizer, bass, guitar, keyboards, vocals

Flea upright bass (on "The Slaughter")

    Chad Smith drums and percussion

Greg Kurstin Wurlitzer piano (on "Of Before")

Omar Rodriguez-Lopez slide guitar (on "Chances", "23 Go in to End")

I used Wikipedia to get this info.

  • 3:40 - 3:47 is the best part of the entire song. That's the most amazing scream I've ever heard in my life. Screw screamo, just listen to John.

  • couldnt of said it better myself man wat a good voice huh

  • i want this at my funeral AND wedding

  • love this song

  • I want this at my funeral

  • i want this at my wedding

  • man i always said the same

  • there is something about it that seems ultimate or a conclusion just through the melody even without the lyrics

  • I own this album and it is one of the greatest things I have ever listened to.

Good memories with this plastic disc.

    Real good.

    top 3 records ever. def.

  • i need to learn how to send a dummy as well...

  • That intro is absolutely insane!!!!

Beatiful, wonderful, scary, odd whatever you call it, i love this song

  • love the intro with all the modular jerking...

  • Nice havent heard this before now...dos he got a whole band behind him? This is great. Idc if hes in rhcp or not hes still a GREAT musician. 5/5

  • this song is performed by two, himself and his music partner josh klingoffer (who mainly plays drums)

  • The drums and percussion is played by Chad Smith from RHCP.

Josh does the backing vocals and bass on this song.

  • chad plays on SCWP, josh is on vocals, keyboards, guitars and other suff , but chad is playing durms on the whole album!

  • josh?

  • Josh Klinghoffer, a very good friend of John Frusciante.

  • alright thanks. i looked him up.

  • john is on vocals keyboards guitars and other stuff dude

  • Josh Klinghoffer does backup vocals on most songs, and even some lead vocals on Omission.

  • I though Josh Klinghoffer was playing drums as well, since he is primarily a drummer, and he plays drums on the Will to Death album.

  • no, drums recorded Chad Smith on this CD.

  • Doesn't it say on the Album artwork that Josh Klinghoffer recorded drums?

I will check in a little while =)

If you all like the song.... I'm guessing you actually went out and payed for the CD?

  • no chad played drums on most of these songs

  • thanks for uploading

  • you're welcome

  • Yeah thanks.... Love this.
