He has a power up is because they realize that the enemies are stupidly fast, so had no chose but to get you a upgrade over this joke of a game

@TheJeli125 - Don't get me started about Justin. He's one person who I want to see dead. As for the gameplay, it's rather mundane but the terrible audiovisuals can put you off from playing it properly.

To be fair, I believe that the makers of this game might be pretty decent at programming (if not music...) - there are a ton of bullets and stuff going on, which is hard to do on the NES without flicker, which is why you never see shmups with very complex bullet patterns.

Is it me, or is Harry Potter naked? I guess he's supposed to be wearing a cloak of some kind; it's a pity that the people who wrote this ROM didn't think to reserve a palette quad to add a little variation to sprites. On the flip side, the chiptune at 3:44 is pretty sweet, but for some reason it sounds like it was lifted out of a licensed game.
