Impossible. They couldn't even keep up with U.S. military spending. They collapsed with their military budget at 28% of GDP, while the U.S. military budget was only 3% of its GDP. Since then, it's only gone up by 1% and the Americans are still outpacing everyone by an incredibly wide margin.

USA was not & is not a militray power out to dominate the world. If so, we would have dones so at the end of WWII when we had the A-Bomb for 4-years when not anyone else did. At the start of WWII our army had only ~200,000 troops, although we did have a large navy. After WWII we were thrust into opposition to Stalin's USSR & his ignition of the Cold War. The theory of evolution has been modified, revised, fine tuned, and is a rock solid theory. Darwin was only the beginning. What he could not answer does not matter, as they have been addressed by his successors.

As for energy only Russia exports more natural gas than the US, we also produce alot of our own oil. We actually import more oil from mexico than the middle east..
