Sorry to say this, but the bright spot specularity moves along with your camera. You can avoid this by rendering the event horizon separately from the rest of the animation and post-edit it later.

The water effect is way way better. Sry but it just is. Everything looks fine until the gate opens. Then it just looks fake. I don't understand why you would ever want to replace the original gate opening. The Stargate movie also had a great gate opening.

the original kawoosh was done with an underwater camera and a jet engine pointing down into the water. it makes for a great effect, but hard to reproduce without a jet engine. got 1 i can borrow? :D

You can't accomplish 1% of this in Sony Vegas, you need like the basic Adobe After Effects or 3d Max

my only criticism is that the colour of the Kawoosh is different to the rest of the water so looks comped on. A bit of colur balancing and this is excellent!
