This sums up the idiocy of the free traders. There are probably millions of reasons why you can't just create their fantasy of "free trade" by snapping the fingers.

@pissysteve The big problem with free trade for me is that you can't import environmental and social protections; a lot of our comparative advantage comes from the fact that foreign workers don't have to be paid a living wage or have weekends off, or what not. It rewards business for leaving, and when businesses have left, the welfare states go bankrupt and lose the domestic protections in the end. Race to the bottom.
