I will say this being as how most CDL mills dont teach how to hook up when I get students on My truck I make them perform 15 steps to hooking up as they dont have the experience as most of us to just look and eyeball most of the hook-up process so yeah I feel that baby steps are needed for most
it also prevents them from getting to cocky lol either way good job dude
well I would have to say that was good and yes I hook up almost the same way I think what really needs to be driven home is that there are many ways of doing it as long as the important parts are hit everytime consistancy and routine without faulter is always the best.
i was thinkin bout my boss tellin me that the fifth wheel was hooked he looked inside like you did but didnt see anything, pull up so i did bam the trailer went down i ask idi you see anything he said i think so i said well crank it up again the dollys are real hard haha while he was crankin i got the big forklift and raised it haha but he was right its not funny when you have a trailer not hooked right and it slips off the fifth wheel
But what about the gears, what about the grease, what about how the sun affects the moon that affects the tide????? LOL, just giving you a hard time, someone has to do it!
There's many ways to correctly do this. Many ways to cock it up too! But if it
s worked for you for 15 yrs, you obviously got something right. Glad you shared your knowlage with everyone. Even if one new driver lears something from it, it's worth it
This is a great video, I would really like to see you make more videos like this "how to" videos pertaining to the trucking industry. Videos about anything about trucking. What seems stupid to some people is valuable information to anothers. Thanks for upload! Great video!
Could you explain in what position the Brake switches on the tractor and trailer are in when you hook up and unhook?

Superman cranking the legs up.
You should check the doors and hinges and that the trailer is clean.
