  • I would think, since rover's arm is so long, why don't they put her arm underneath her left wheel and roll over the arm?

  • this is a good one, they send another rover, trying to push it out, got trapped again, lol.

  • Such is the inevitable with land rovers. Now, if they could fly...

  • Wow, I hope they get it out. What a lucky crew! Thanks for the interesting post.

    :)

  • once they get it out they should totally get the two rovers together and race them.

  • booooooooring

  • How about the next probe be a mini-blimp or UAV? Would the Martian atmosphere allow that so Rover problems wouldn't be an issue? Could Helium (or ..?) be in the landing 'ball', so upon touchdown, the blimp would fill with gas, and away you go (even with steering fans, it would probably be at the mercy of the winds).

Great job on the video - this should be required viewing in every school across the US. Science should'nt be just for us geeks - we have to find a way to get EVERYONE into it

  • 'She'? WTF. How nauseating...!

  • Seriously, they should plan to launch a couple of more rovers instead.

Further exploration in different parts of mars is also important.

  • It's at least 3 orders of magnitude cheaper to try freeing the current rover than launching another one.

And in the long perspective they plan to send a human, so I doubt they'll send (many) more rovers.

  • They have some on the way, though they'll keep people on these ones so long as they still work.

  • they are llaunching more. Look up: Mars Science Laboratory
