I dont get it. So in the video you can hear the police telling him to "roll over" several times. You can also hear the baton strikes as well as this subject's cries of pain. At what point in the video can you see this subject's hands and exactly how he is resisting? I have watched the video over and over. You cant tell if the subject is resisting at all! So how is it we can fairly pass judgement on the officers?

Two things.

A) This is a perfect example why people that come to America need to speak and understand English. This guy clearly says he didn't understand what was going on.

B) If you do not listen and obey what the office tells you to do - if you don't comply you will be forced to comply. The cops don't know if this guy still has the knife on him. They don't even know if he has a gun or some other weapon stored behind the door or whatever.

They are trained to not engage "hands on" with an individual with a concealed weapon which is why they wanted him on his stomach. He refused to comply. They used the baton - he still refused to comply. So, while it's easy to second guess from our view the fact is the officer's used proper engagement strategy
