  • Atomusk90.. i agree and dont agree. 4 strokes do not share the same troubles that 2 strokes do. 2 strokes have tons of speed. very fast. the 4 strokes have more bottom end.. if you were in a pulling contest.. the 4 stroke will win. if you are in a race.. the 4 stroke will win... after the 2 stroke tops out though..lol long live 2 strokes.

    I have owned 2 & 4 strokes

    I currently own both 2 & 4 strokes

    I have a CRF that is LESS than 12 months old that I have been try to sell with NO buyers to be found. My 300 out guns the CRF in every way any where any time other than on a MX track. 300 was NOT made MX!!!

    The 300 is 1000 X more reliable and has NOT been rebuilt in over 2 years and still faster then the CRF that HAS been rebuilt!

    Get a grip of reality

    PS I ride 20+ week ends of the year - I have at least 1 or more weeks away a year for riding. Thats why the CRF died a early death. I have son older than you who races. How much do you ride?

  • @Rampede um yea i think your facts are alittle off i dont rebuilt my bike till winter which means all of spring, summer, and fall it goes like a bat out of hell. Most of the time i dont need to rebuild it either just crank bearings and misc. things that i can do myself. maybe a 4 choker needs to have the valvetrain done every 30-40 hrs of riding maybe thats where u got ur facts.

    oh shit, well i said that in some other video thinking it was this one, i guess i did not specify. and I didnt mean complete rebuild just top end new rings and head and base gasket thats it...but you do need to do that every 30-40 hours of riding to keep OPTIMAL performance. God damnit i ride with a group of about 20 guys and i know im not no fool so shut up lol.

  • @Rampede Ok first what does it matter if you ride with 20 people or 2 does that make you know what your talking about? Second i do a semi rebuild every winter which is 5-6 months and every time i run a compression test before. After 5 months i maybe lose 4-6 psi of compression, thats not alot. I reline the cylinder every other yr.

  • @Rampede actually your wrong there to after awhile the cylinder lining will get worn down and score the piston which means a new piston and if you dont change rod bearings youll need a new rod. I do all my own work except for the relining which i have to send the jug out to have it done.I know what im doing and talking about.

I know over time rod bearings and rod will wear out...and i also know that eventually you will have to get a new piston and after about 5 bores you need a new sleeve.....im not stupid dude i just didnt feel like typing all this

  • @Rampede im sure you did. Honestly you can rebuild your bikes every 40 hrs but ill stick with my 5-6 months and i know the bike will perform at its best throughout the entire time. Idk where you got the 30-40 hrs everyone i know either rebuild in the winter or run them till they break. You got your preferances i got mine. The bike runs like a champ either way.

I started on a yamaha 80 quad.......then to an old air cooled cr80 then a 95 cr125, never owned anything newer than a 2002 kx250and i only owned it for a day because i traded it for an M3 with a blown engine lol.

  • There is NO NIl NADA NON 450's with 56hp stock in 2010 let alone any other model older than 2010.

    A stock KX450=47Hp + 6Hp (!BS!) = 53hp

    How much did the bike cost new + all these parts you bought?

    Was it more than a 50hp 250SX stock out of the box - That will NEVER do a valve EVER That has a great resale value in 2 years time!

But I have raced 4 different 500,s 3 being Kawasakis and one being a Honda and I was able to Get all of them in a race I thought I would have raced a healthy one by now, my buddies has alot of hours on it but it is still very fast, I would not b able to beat any of them on my 09 Kawasaki

  • Yeah exactly and that's what I thought u were going off of. I own a 07 kawaski that I built up basically only so that I can beat some 500,s with it obviously not all of them that's impossible. I also own the 2009 Kawasaki 450, and ur right it can't beat a 500 in a drag race it's impossible but that's not y I bought it, it's the one I race with with and all it has is an exhaust. I haven't had it on the dyno yet but I'm sure my 07 has alot more due to the money I've put in it.

  • Now not being odd - But of all the 450 the Kawasaki is the better one. The 450R and 450sxf make more power at higher rpm.

    The KX450F loads from lower down in the rev range.

    This would make an average KX450F rider faster than a average 450R or 450sxf rider. The KXF rider would also be less tired.

    With PRO's the Honda & KTM would have the upper hand.

    Make no mistake you wont catch a healthy stock CR500

    2 stroke make power EVERY rev This done at 5600rpm

    The 450 tries too double the RPM 11200

  • Go to the PRO sites like akrapovic who show off their product and also make a GREAT product.

    Go to the DynoChart user page. There are a lot of dyno charts there.

    If you need a pile of them then give me a yell and I'll send you the direct links off MotoUSA and other pages like it, rather than hick down the road.

    Most dyno's are from the wheel. The dyno from the crank are calculated backwards with a 12% loss in box. Not accurate.

    The only people who do it off the crank are the manufacturer.

My friend has a kx 500 and it dynowed at 62 hp. Same power as my bike with alot mo weight plus the 4 stroke puts the power to the ground. I smoke the shit out of my friend so we switched bikes and he beat me on my bike so whatever u r the one that hasn't been around very long. I'm 21 and I've been racing for 11 years

    07 KX450F would struggle to get 45hp

    The BEAST OF THE DAY 4 stroker TT600 did a whopping 35hp stock

    Incase you missed the other post a almost 30 YEAR OLD 1983 (Before you were born) CR500 did 49Hp - Check the dynos (Search for "DynoCharts" on youtube or anywhere else)

    A 48Hp any thing is still less than a 49Hp 30 year old CR500 It may handle like shit but a straight line drag down a tar road would still have you playing catch up with a vintage bike that should be in a museum.

    A grade 1 could work out the ¼ mile result for 70+ hp vs 48Hp

  • Hey u rail the burns preety good. What made u buy a 500 instead of like a 450. I know what some of u people r gonna say. Well uhhhhh a 500 is way faster, but that isn't true. A Kawasaki or a Honda 450 will beat a 500 in a drag race until the 500 runs it down in fifth gear. Thi isn't my opinion either. I have a Kawasaki 450 and my buddy has a kx 500. I put an exhaust, piston, and procircuit cam on my bike and I kick his butt, I even get him on the top end

    09 Maico 500 does 67Hp

    09 CR500AF = 65Hp

    1987 Stock CR500 = 56Hp

    2009 Tuned by Akrapovic KXF450 with Akrapovic pipe = 48Hp.

    One thing is SHURE a OLD CR500 or KX500 would STOMP a new 450 in a straight line drag!

    You would have a hard time getting more than a wheel ahead of a 250sx (I dont think you could)
