Thank you for making this doc. I nearly died of this illness last March though I am recovering well (despite massive stroke/coma/brain injury) and baby Sarah is doing great. I am convinced that injecting lovenox, a blood thinner, enabled me to carry her to term. Lovenox was my idea after I sought the advice of a reproductive immunologist, btw. No one but me thought it necessary but my doctors humored me and allowed it. Thanks for doing this doc.

Thank you for sharing this very personal insight into HELLP Syndrome. It is unclear when I developed HELLP Syndrome in my twin pregnancy as I did not have any classic signs of it. We delivered one of our twins, while the smaller of the two was delayed to enable her to grow and develop more, this is when I unfortunately started to show signs and before we knew it, the oxygen supply to baby was cut through her cord and she passed. Please insist on getting checked. I am so sorry for your loss x

Thank You for trying to educate people on HELLP. I developed HELLP after having seizures in my bathroom due to eclampsia with my twin girls at 32 weeks of pregnancy. I woke up 3 days later in the ICU and found out my twins were taken by C-section and I was put on life support. I have no memory of thier birth. After they were born, I also developed Postpartum cardiomyopathy (or heart failure) and spent 2 weeks in the hospital. I feel for your pain and hope for your healing from this tragedy.

I had never heard of HELLP syndrome until today. A 27 week old baby had to be delivered today because of that. I hope that little fella will be ok. I m sorry for your loss. THank you for your video. It must have been a lot to go thru at your age. Hope you and your son are doing ok

I am very very sorry for your loss, i had developed preeclampsia in my second pregnancy that turned into HELLP syndrome. My BP was over the roof, i had swelling all over my body, retained about 50lbs of water. Lost my vision in one eye, had panick attacks and almost died and lost the baby as well. Luckily the doctors and nurses acted very quickly and were able to save both of us. She was a preemie and we will most likely never be able to have kids again due to the complications.

I had HELLP back on Nov 07, I know that the only cure is to deliver the baby as soon as possible, did they deliver hunter as soon as they found out she was sick? or did they live her pregnant & waiting? I'm sorry but thank you for sharing this sad story because it's going to help a lot of people who doesn't know anything about this pregnancy complication. God bless.

I know that the only cure is to deliver the baby as soon as possible, did they deliver your son right away? or did they live her pregnant for a long period of time? I have had HELLP too. In June 2008 I had a sectio and my daughter was born six weeks early. Apart from psychological isues, we're borh healthy now. I have been saved, and I am so thankful for taht. Knowing that a beautiful woman died of it scares and shocks me. I had never heard of Hellp at that time, and when I was in hospital I didn't realize is was that bad, I was too busy surviving....

I had HELLP syndrome after the birth of my daughter in March 2002. I ended up in the ER four days after she was born with a blood pressure of 109/171 and fluid in my lungs. I have suffered anxiety attacks since then but am thankful I am here for my children.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I had no idea what hellp was until I got it at 34 weeks pregnant with my son. My husband and I are a young healthy couple like you both...the doctors did not see it coming. I can't imagine leaving my husband to raise our son alone. My heart goes out to you and your family.

I had HELLP syndrome and lost my baby at 28 weeks and almost didn't make it myself. My mother also had it with my little sister and had a similar experience to Alicia. She only had a 10% chance of living but ended up getting through it.Super scary and rare syndrome. Thanks for making this video.

I suffered from preeclampsia and had a premature baby. It never got to HELLP Syndrome. My prayers go out to you and your family. Every woman that wants to get pregnant should be aware of this because I had no idea what anything was. God Bless you
