  • Great rendition by The Tokens. I'm a doo wap citizen.

  • this is what you call music

  • @jjo1943 beautiful, ain't it!

  • I remember dancing to this song when I was a wee lil child with my mom :)

  • @TalRashaLegacy That's what this channel aims to do, bring back memories!

  • They are greatest, sensatinal. Thanks.

  • never heard it by The Tokens. but they sing it very good!!!!

    thanx for the share......5*****

  • @nenazpuppy Thanks Nena!

  • OK ,but the original by Freddy Parris and the 5 Satins will always own this one.

  • Nobody can match Fred Parris on this song but this is the best cover of this song I've heard. Great Job!

  • Just wanted to thank whoever posted these videos...they are WONDERFUL. Just the right mix of doo wop songs that

    I like!!!!!

  • Glad you are enjoying them, watch as many as you like!

  • YouTube is a great source for learning songs. We do a lot of karaoke at friends'

houses, I learned the original "In The Still of the Night" AFTER I'd sung for a long time the song"Lost in the 50's(In the Still of the Night)" by Ronnie Milsap. YouTube is great for learning things about artists, too.

  • Yeh, I also learned lots I never knew, EVEN about the Lettermen!! Their Vocal Group Hall of Fame is incredibly detailed about all the top groups of the era, well worth a visit!

  • What website do you go to? I'd like to check it out.

  • fantastic group and music alot of people do not understand what these groups went thru because it was about the music not the money.thank you for sharing this great music

  • You're welcome! I'm just glad their hard work gave them a lot of success!

  • Dar, I'm afraid you'd have to look out for all of my left feet ! (I lost count of' 'em a while back!) ; ))

  • Love it...love it..Would you like this dance? :) So..good!

  • Why was the tokens vid pulled off utube(The lion sleeps tonight )

  • In my opinion, the most beatiful song ever composed

  • THE TOKENS have one of the very best sounds ever to emmanate from a male group of this style ~ I don't quite understand why they didn't go even further and have more Hits associated with them - were they somewhat overshadowed by the British Invasion of the 60's?

  • Saw them at Clifftop WV. Doo Wop Saturday Nite. Geat then and now.

  • Thanks Justine! Good call!

  • Oh man, what great memories!! Truly, that era was the greatest music EVER.

  • OK! I have to agree!

  • Classic doo wop. Give me the golden oldies anyday. Music today has lost the passion that the oldies gave us. Keep doo wop alive!!!

  • Sure will try! Thanks!

  • They still sound great, takes you down memory lane once more.

  • Thanks for putting this out for us... I was wondering what the Tokens did beyond the Lion, and it's all great for a person who likes doo-wop. Good fun. 8) K

  • Welcome, buddy! They released quite a few albums!

  • great song. who was the original soprano singing in the lion sleeps tonight i don'thear her here.

  • I think it was a guy called Jay Siegel. They are an all male group btw!!!! ; ))

  • I mean The Five Satins.

  • Your choice buddy, and I don't mind at all. I love comparing different versions of songs!

  • I think I prefer The Five Satains.

  • love this song... a big favourite of mine. thanks for posting..

  • Welcome, Daz, It's classic doo wop ain't it!
