  • @getuga22 What the heck is your problem? Who cares if he was gay? Why do you also have to bring color into this? Do you love being called "blackey"? Don't be so juvenile.

  • You heretic!!

    Just kidding!! hahaha!!

  • I want to punch that Plutarch historian guy in the face!

  • Holy shit people, why all the bickering, the facts are - his father was was Macedonian - his mother was Greek - he fought for the glory of both - but it was Greek culture ultimately that he was spreading - sorry to say but the Macedonians of the time were very much Greek wannabe's - btw, I am neither Greek nor Macedonian and therefore impartial to the hatred between them - I give props to both cultures for giving us Alexander

  • His mother was Epeirote. A half-barbarian

  • @EclecticHector Just remember Macedonian political view was kingdom and Greek politcal view was city state democracy how on earth they were spreading Greek culture?

  • I see Macedonian's and Greeks fighting over whether Alexander is Greek or Macedonians. I am not Greek nor Macedonians but his mother was from Epirus and his father is Macedonian. But this is NOT the same as modern day Macedonia. Before the independence of Macedonia it was former Yoguslavia. So, stop fighting over his background because his not Greek and his not Macedonian

  • @uniquesoljuh I think you are confused because before the Balkans war Macedonia was one country occupied by the Otomans, after the fall of the Otomans Macedonia was partitioned between Serbia, Bulgaria and Greece and a small part in Albania. (1913 treaty from Bucharest) to stop the kiling between themselves. So only one part of Macedonia enjoys freedom. The oher parts are still occupied under the Greeks, Bulgarians and Albanians. That's the truth.

  • So although Alexander was a brilliant General he was a very weak minded person.

After all he lay on the dead body of Hepheastion and did not eat for 2 days . These things do not happen nowadays !

People do not mourn like that now.

  • Not too sound like a dedicated fanboy of Alexander but how could you possibly call him weak minded? Would you be able to do all the things he done? And yes people do not mourn like that nowadays, but that isnt a sign of weakness, more like a sign of friendship and devestation at his death.

  • 3:42.....my theory: Alexander died due to delayed infection from that arrow wound! perhaps a fragment of the arrow head or a splinter from the shaft worked its way deep into his system and slowly built the alleged internal fatal infection!

  • VARDARSKA!!!!!!

  • im wandering why greeks are claiming alexander and phillip as their kings, first of all they where hating so much macedonians, calling them barbarians(not civilized like them) and after all Phillip II at charonea slain so much greeks(spearing just 2000 to tell who is phillip in their homeland), its so weird from greeks, its same to claim troyans where greeks too since greeks burn them to the ground...

  • Alexander was great to the Greeks becuase he conquered half of Asia. If he had not won , he would have remained a barbarian to the Greeks !

  • The bigest fact is that nor 1 historian mentioned that he is Greek, and every ancient historian write that he is Macedonian, that he wass callinghimself too...so u can say whatever u want and u think, the facts are not speaking that...

  • I am myself a Greek by ancient descend,Alexander I of Macedonia,in Herodotos' book Kalliopi

  • seldomseenow is a ReeTard!!! and probably a turk.. fuckin loser you'll spite in hell

  • Oh did you grand grannie get fuk´ed by Alexander or something?? why are you so mad? I´ve never seen anyone get so happy over someoe else dead 2000 years ago..Get a fucking grip !!

  • maybe he had aides from cornholing Hephestian?

  • Alexander The Great was Greek.

"Holy shadows of the dead, I´m not to blame for your cruel and bitter fate, but the accursed rivalry which brought sister nations and brother people, to fight one another. I do not feel happy for this victory of mine. On the contrary, I would be glad, brothers, if I had all of you standing here next to me, since we are united by the same language, the same blood and the same visions."

Alexander the Great addressing the dead Greeks after Chaeronia. Curtius Rufus

  • It's strange how many type in affect before reading or thinking first: Why so eager to"make" up a united Kingdom of "Greece" when there was none?

    1. There were hellenistic states at Alexanders birth. Several rulers (noblemen) per state.

    2. Some of the different states(not all)fought under Philip of Macedon. Macedonians were frowned upon. Not really accepted by other Hellenistic rulers.

    3. Tell me: why do all ancient historians refere to Alexander as the Macedonian ruler and not Greek ruler?

  • right

  • Alexander was born in the northern Greek kingdom of Macedonia in July 356 BC

  • stop sayimg that.
