Age to get drivers license

18 for license and 16 for permit its 15 where i come from and in my opinion thats waaaay to young cramming tons of shit in your head and then we as younger people cant comprehend every little thing like an adult can on the road

18, because having my license since I was 16. I have done some pretty immature shit I admit. Where mine got suspended for 6 months, I almost 19 and just got it back less than a month ago. I think kids who are in high school, they should have a school and work permit only. No lollygagging and getting into trouble. But thats my opinion after going through what I did, as well as others I know.

Raising the driving age would only increase the number of uneducated teenagers joyriding. At least if it's 16, the kids will be educated on how to drive. Let's face it, kids rebel.

I think a form of graduated licensing is the way to go.

It should start at 16, and you should have a full no restrictions license at age 18.

I am 16 and I have my license. I am a great driver. The reason teens are in accidents is because they say "Screw driver's ed, im just gonna go fast and accelerate like crazy." They just need harsher punishments for teens that are irresponsible. It's not fair to punish kids that are good drivers...

16 is fine, because how do you think you learn. You drive, pratice your driving. I got my licence when I was 16 (Now I'm 30), and I did have some accidents, but I learned from my mistakes. You can put me against any driver, and I know I will bet most older drivers in safety, and control.

To the question, I think that even if they raised the driving age to 18 then sure the kids getting their licenses would be a little more mature, they would still have the same amount of experience, 1 year. And because they don't have that much experience is what causes most crashes. So if your going to mess with the driving age, why not just change how long you have to have your permit, and make it a year longer. So you would get your permit at 15.

Well I am 13 and I can tell you from experience that the majority for kids in my class are not even CLOSE to the maturity level needed to drive and be responsible about it. Also lots of them are too short to reach the pedals anyways lol. And yeah I agree with the drugs part but still, 13 year olds are NOT mature enough for even a permit.
