  • do more songs ! perfect !

  • wow!

  • tony - this is possibly my favourite of all your beatles interpretations.

not only did you capture the rythym, melody and harmony... you also captured the zeitgeist.

  • its a long long time ago that I don't hear this song!!! one of my favorites, very very good interpretation

  • How can there be 11 people who go to the trouble of ticking 'dislike'? Musical education levels must be pitiful.

  • Tony, you just remind me why I love The Beatles. Thanks. Awesome.

  • @darrenjray

    thank you. cheers.

  • If you busked any of your arrangements you make alot of money.

  • ke lastima no se escucha

  • Excellent excellent excellent. An incredibly talented musician to bring out all the melody, counter-melody and bass notes - I heard parts I knew where there in the original but I'd never really paid attention to. Great guitarist to be able to play it.

    Well done and thank you.

  • @bimpson78

    thanks!

  • @troubleclef Hey sir what a skill in guitar, im a guitar addict too. Sir Could you place make a tutorial of this rendition "There's a place" I want to learn it. Thanks in advance Sir. Im from the Philippines.

  • Bravo!! Fantastic technique and feel. What a sweet tone from the nylon strings.

I don't know if this song is on your list, but have you tried the Beatles' song "That means a Lot" from the Anthology CD's? I don't know if that's the title but I think that line is the hook. "When she says she loves you, that means a lot". That song has a nice melody and very cool changes. You would do it justice.

  • @jimdep1

thanks. i just did a search for that song on youtube and that is the name of it. i'd never heard it before. sounds like pre-George Martin days. Very different sound. I'm not sure i'd even say it was the Beatles if someone played it for me!

  • Terrific version. One might think this is a throwaway, a leftover on the first Beatles album, you made it very clear that it isn't :) Awesome arrangement and technique, I am your fan!

  • @SaraVaughanfan

thanks so much. one of my favorite of the early songs. i'd even say i like it better than some of the things that made it on to the albums.

  • Sounded great!

  • Your cover is very comfortable for me♫♫♫.

  • my favorite beatles song. I'll look for the alternate version. Know the cut number?

  • @1luiszepol

  • Fuckin sweet , give me the TAB!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Very nice. This has always been kind of a secret fave Beatles song of mine. You really have gotten the vocal harmonies they used into your arrangement. Great stuff.

  • hey so beautiful! what are the tabs?

  • I dont comment at all 1st time it was that good . end

  • @usmikec1

    i appreciate it. thanks

  • Bravo

  • Congrats. You keep the feeling of the song and give it you own touch.

  • very good man : ]

  • Would you be MY uncle???? jajaj

Seriously, I grew up listening to Beatles songs almost everyday and seeing a lot of people playing Beatles. But only few, play and FEEL the music like you do. To me, that's what makes a great musician. Outstanding.

  • You're simply amazing!!!

You remind me of my uncle who's gone now who used to play the same as you do.

  • I think in the part ¨Don't you know that it's so? its nice with a minor chord G sust menor

  • Comment removed

  • OAAAAAAAAAA!!!,amazing I always loved that song from The Beatles first album, where is the tabs?

  • Aaamaaazing! (read: amazing 10 times)

This is just excellent. Subscribed, thumbs up!

  • Very Good!!

  • Grote klasse!!!

  • a couple of chords, with the bass line going up the 5th of that chord?

    Nice arrangement, indeed!

  • that is, simply, fabulous!

I know that you don't have tabs..but, what kind of chord add ons are you phrasing on top of the basic maji or minor chords in this song?

i think that I hear some maj and minor 7ths...maybe some add 9ths?

are you suspending any of your chords?

    thanks...

  • your amazing man i am 18 and i love the beatles so much and i respect this well done

  • 5*!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • top notch! WOW!

  • holly... =$

    its incredible!

  • Such a beautiful version of a fantastic song.....bravo :)

  • Great. What a gift you have.

  • Can't you make just one mistake so I don't have to feel like a complete failure as a musician??? I will pay you.

  • Hilarious comment! I love seeing Mr. Clef's gargantuan talent but it's true I feel hopeless against his ability.

    "I will pay you."

    LOL!!!

  • Very Good, the best alternative playing than I saw (and heared)!!

  • This has got to be my favorite piece of all.

    John is smiling from somewhere.

    Frank

  • wow...im blown away...

    fantastic!

  • So I have conflicting emotions. You inspire me to play better, but at the same time, I have such a long way to go. You need to record in a studio and release an album (vinyl please).

  • Bravo to the maestro!!!

  • Enjoy your renditions of Beatles' tunes. Thank you.

  • Beautiful !!!!! Nice way to end an evening, coming upon this video. Thanks for posting it.

  • ahh that's what i was looking for... a cover of this clever beautiful song.,,,

,...not elvis Costeleo destroying it. :P

  • Really beautiful. Thanks. It's a very underrated song.

  • put this guy on mtv

  • nice

  • beautiful <3

  • My god. Better than the original?

  • nah, no way. though i will say that one of the alternate versions the beatles did is better than the one that ended on record. jmho

  • I think I know the one you mean - it has guitar instead of the harmonica for the lead sections...

    - seriously mate, very impressive note picking ;-) In truth I doubt either Macca or Lennon could finger pick as well as that... But they could sing, write, AND play to a good/consistent standard which makes up for it in abundance...

    - however, to be able to take their songs and cover all the vocals, lead, and rhythm with each song on a single guitar to that standard is pretty remarkable ;-)

  • Which? I want it.

  • Love the you capture the Lennon and Mac harmonies when you play. Superb

  • Desde México, increible... como decimos aquí de pocas...

  • this clip is now in my favorites its so great thanks!

  • 5 stars man!

  • wow!.. so warm... incredible man!.. 5 stars! =D

  • do you have a cd of your arrangements that i could get off you?? i think your playing is amazing and i am from a scouse family of beatles fans so this is a fantastic find for me

  • hi, thanks. i don't have a cd for sale but maybe someday. i'll promote it on my youtube channel

  • make me realise whata incredible melody !!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Do you do this for a living? Cool!

  • nope. just a hobby. thanks

  • do you come up with the arrangements by yourself? if so how do you plan them?

  • @troubleclef it's an awesome hobby..

  • Have you considered arranging 'No Reply'?

    allen

  • Hi Allen,

yeah i've thought about it. that's another of their songs with the heavily latin back beat that i stressed in this arrangement. thanks for watching and all the comments.

  • One of my favorite early Beatles songs. Very well done.

    allen

  • wow great!!!!!!!!!!!!^^

  • amazing!

  • wonderfull......!

  • Very nice!

  • Great arrangement! "There's a Place" is one of the most underrated Beatles songs, I think.

  • wauuuu beautifol

  • Sir,

You are inspiring. You capture the feel of each song. Thank you for beautiful renditions of timeless songs.

    Standard tuning?

  • this is my favourite of your videos

  • thanks

  • You have a deep appreciation for the beauty of music. Great arrangement and great playing.

  • you have brilliance, what an amazingly talented man :oD

  • I would imagine Lennon and McCartney would both have to smile upon hearing your arrangements.

  • wow...

  • You're the best!!!

  • I will always admire the way you play..

hope you live long and inmortalize many more songs.

  • Very nice work.. a terrific arrangement and played so well!

  • thanks, buddy

  • Hey each of your strings is a Beatle, the melody the vocal on harmony, the guitars the bass. Need another 2 strings for the drums. Great and beautiful renditon you did.

  • why don´t you share your scores?

  • He has 152 videos of very complex songs. It would take forever to write them all.

  • Man, you´re a true genius.

    Salute from Brazil.

  • This performance brings out the essence and true beauty in Lennon and McCartney's writings. Marvelous! Thanks for sharing.

  • Wow! very impressive, this is one of my favorite Beatles songs. Good job.

  • Very impressive! This is one of the few Beatle songs that I never particularly liked. (The execs at Capitol Records apparently agreed with me — the label never issued the song until the "Past Masters" CD.) However, by giving the tune an intricate, near-flamenco arrangement, TC brings out its percussive beauty.

Speaking of which, I'm now thinking how the tune might sound with a full-blown flamenco arrangement, complete with hand-clapping and castanets.

  • Oops! I meant to say that Capitol never issued the song until the "Please Please Me" CD. (Excuse me. I'm getting senile.)

  • I think in the US it was only heard on Vee-Jay's "Introducing the Beatles" album, which is relatively unknown...."Theres A Place" and "From Me to You" are kind of orphaned songs not found on the common US (Capitol Records) versions of classic Beatles albums, I think due to legal stuff with Vee-Jay records.

  • It's my understanding that Brian Epstein gave several early songs to Vee-Jay after EMI-owned Capitol passed on their right of first refusal. (EMI also owned Parlaphone Records in the UK.) Finally, Epstein convinced Capitol to release "I Want to Hold Your Hand," which exploded on the charts. Afterwards, Capitol was able to wrest control of the early songs from Vee-Jay and reissued most of them on the LP "The Early Beatles." So, Capitol could have released "There's a Place" if it had wanted.

  • Well if that is true, I think they definitely should have put it on the Early Beatles album...I think it's miles better than "Anna" or "Chains", and it's not a cover song!

  • oh--and you're not senile, I think you were just thinking of the UK vs US EMI/Capitol releases :)

  • Troubleclef..You should record some of you're musings..I think there's a market for it..LOL..I'll put up the cash for the studio time..Interested?..JRingo

  • I love this song, Great job!!!

  • Here's another old Beatles and Troubleclef fan, and I'm casting a vote for minor sorrow too.

  • Amazing! Great arrangement of a genial Beatles song.

  • Excellent arrangement and playing. Have alway's loved your Beatles repertoire. One note though, when I play this song, on the bridges second line I use F#m instead of F#7(1:10-1:12). It adds some chordal texture and fits the lyrics. First go around "there's no sorrow" F#7, then "there'll be no sad tomorrows" F#m. I like the minor feel when singing "sad tomorrows".

    =)

  • thanks. yeah, that's a tricky moment in my version. but, good suggestion. i'll check it out.

  • Troubleclef..I Like the F#7..I sing along with it good!..JRingo..You Rock!!.Smile once in awile though!

  • excellent playing a smile is what you left on this Beatle fans face...

    peace

  • I wish I can shake hands with you !!..You are brilliant, because you play the Beatles which no one else did before !!..Thanks a lot.

  • Bravo! It's a joy to hear you play. Very uplifting to the mood. I don't think I've read any negative comments on your style and music. If you do get them, just ignore. They're jealous.

  • thanks. hehe...there's one on this page!

  • langbry, I'm sure the only thing you can play is with yourself! This guy is incredible! Keep it up!

  • you're sweet

  • You are a jerk with no taste in music. Obviously! The song was beautiful and if you didnt think so then just keep quiet about it. If you dont have anything nice to say than just dont say anything at all. BTW I doubt you would ever be able to play that so just shut up!

  • Yeah... And Lennon and McCartney wouldn't have been able to play it like that either. Jesus, I didn't know there were so many elevator music fans. I guess Starbucks is corrupting people's minds.

  • yay, you again.

  • hey hello.this is the first time i see you. youre really good.

please can you make more songs from beatles???

    please,!:!:!:!

    bye:!:!

  • great song!!!!!!!!

    and very nice playing!

    yeahhhhhhh!!!

    beatles= :)

  • Very Nice! BRAVO! 5tarz!

  • i never realized the Spanish influence in this Beatles classic until you broke it down. thank you!

  • thanks. oh yeah, once you start hearing it it's all over the place especially on the early albums. I heard a story once that this was why John named one of his books "A Spaniard in the works". The double-entendre with 'a spanner in the works' is that he was so heavily influenced by romantic latin songs. not sure how much truth there is to that story.

  • My God! You play beautifully! Keep up the excellent work!

    -Kate

  • Sounds so sweet, I can just loop it over and over. Thanks. Reading your comments sections, I hope you don't get too full of yourself, but it certainly is well-deserved praise, and from a pretty tough crowd!

  • You make me feel like I'm hearing these again for the first time.Thank you.

  • thanks

  • There's A Place is from the first album Please Please Me (UK) & Introducing The Beatles (US)

  • Excellent rendition! Have you considered doing one us older people remember...Cry for a Shadow? Best to you in 2008!

  • i don't know that song. i'll have to check it out. thanks

  • You are such an inspiration for my own guitar playing, thank you.

  • felicidades maestro me gustan los beatles y tambien me gusta lo ke haces

  • muchas gracias

  • It seems to me that all music is derived from Spanish and Classical music

  • well, that's a bit too much to bite off and chew but you've got a point about western music anyhow. and the beatles in particular. especially john's songs (like this one). early on he was much enamored of the latin bolero style and put it into several of the band's arrangements. (i don't know that for a fact but just by observation of the numerous songs with that particular stamp). cheers.

  • One ofmy all-time favorite early-period Beatles. To echo what another poster said, you retained the feeling of the original. Kudos.

  • One of the nicest you've done, Keep up the beautiful renditions that you do.

  • Excellent

  • All the original feeling of thissong is saved in your version.Bravo;

    patrice

  • Eres lo máximo, gracias.

  • My favourite Beatles song :D

    Brilliant work, thanks for uploading.

  • Very nice indeed. Now if you can improve the resolution and slow things down a bit I think I can figure out what you're left hand is doing. Lets face it. We're all sponges at the end of the day. ;) Keep up the good work and thanks for sharing!

  • That sounds very nice, there's a lot in that tune.

  • marvelous

  • When a great musician like yourself does a Beatle's song the results are often amazing, and this is the case here. Those Beatle melodies just beg to be performed and I'm glad you do them. -Ron

  • thanks. i appreciate all the support

  • Amazing! Are you planning on releasing any CDs with those Beatles' cover?

  • Oh good Lord!!!...How do you keep amazing me...and entertaining us....thanx again for another superb performance...Airbus3006

  • thank you so much

  • As an original Beatles fan, your marvelous instrumental guitar playing has made me appreciate their music even more so. As always, another 5-star performance !!
