Last week Google merged everyone's multiple Gmail/YouTube/etc. accounts. You probably used the same e-mail address on the flagged account as you used for some other Google service, which now has been automatically linked to your current YouTube account by Google, hence this.
Dude, this is crazy. Almost exact same thing happened to me. I used to post gaming videos to "FreeKill300", but before gaming I posted magic trick tutorials. I got a copyright strike like you and thought nothing of it. Eventually Machinima contacted me and wanted to partner my channel, but you can't be partnered with a strike! So I had to switch channels and now I'm on this one.
Can't believe we both got strikes for magic tricks and we both post gaming stuff. Crazy.
@AirsoftXX If you have any plans on getting partnered or monetization in general, it's probably best to switch. Of course you're going to see a dip in subscribers (I went from 12K to around 2.5K when I first switched). But it's really better because the people that follow you to your new channel are your true fans, the people that really like your content. Transition isn't bad since the same people that watched before will probably follow you.
@GuardRabbit Thats what I was thinking, I guess it is just getting over the fact that you'll see a huge number drop. But I mean I can always work my way up. I probably will if this doesn't go through. It's for the better anyways. Thanks for the advice though!

You probably use the same... something for both channels. Email. Name. Whatever. It's the only way they could track you to this channel.
