You don't have to use boot camp to run Windows on an Intel Mac as you can also use Parallels Desktop.
Plus, Boot Camp won't be a beta when OS X Leopard comes out.
As for how well Windows can run on Intel Macs, they actually run quite well, and why not? Windows can run natively on Intel Macs provided that there are functional drivers for the hardware.
As for me, I do a lot of things cross-platform, so I generally use both platforms.
I kind of like the iPhone, but don't like some of the caveats, particularly a non-replaceable battery.
And, it's never wise to buy the first generation of ANYTHING from anybody. If I'm going to get an iPhone, I'll be playing it smart by getting a later generation with any bugs worked out, newer features, lower price, and lower demand.
