It's hard to compare such different styles as Melodic Death Metal and New Wave Of American Heavy metal. Besides, they have different strong areas. Alexi has his melodic solos and verses vs. the crazy heavy riffs and complex rithyms of Mark. Comparison in this case hangs on opinion.
You can't really compare the two because they have different styles. Mark is a bluesy soloist as where Alexi is clearly a shredder and speedy type of soloist.

well you also gotta realize that there are two guitarists in each band and both do solos, but both these guitarists are my all time two favorite guitarists, but have 2 different playing styles but in my own opinion alexi wins for the fact that he sings lead and plays lead, but either way both are great guitarists and should totaly go on tour together :D

It's hard to compare such different styles as Melodic Death Metal and New Wave Of American Heavy metal. Besides, they have different strong areas. Alexi has his melodic solos and verses vs. the crazy heavy riffs and complex rithyms of Mark. Comparison in this case hangs on opinion.

You can't really compare the two because they have different styles. Mark is a bluesy soloist as where Alexi is clearly a shredder and speedy type of soloist.

this is actually one of the better VS videos I have seen! I mean both players are amazing and they play different styles so it is way to hard to compare the two players because of the way that they play! I will say that out of all the solos Kissing the Shadows takes the cake!

well you also gotta realize that there are two guitarists in each band and both do solos, but both these guitarists are my all time two favorite guitarists, but have 2 different playing styles but in my own opinion alexi wins for the fact that he sings lead and plays lead, but either way both are great guitarists and should totaly go on tour together :D

I think its shud be Mark got this as he does not only play metal but hes also into jazz,and classical guitar and metal sorta originated from Jazz.(I read it somewhere in wiki or some website)

mark morton. he's a better riffer, and he showed he can play at any speed he wants, which is all alexi laiho really has. he's talented, but it's generic, which is something that can't be said about morton.
