to the people who complain about the voice, Bruce is 25 years old. the guy is practically younger then Nightwing. It goes without saying that he's the first guy to do this so using his voice as a whisper is a work in progress. it's an origin story for a reason so he's going to grow into the role of the dark knight
sounds like he has done a good job, it would make no sense for conroy to do the voice of such a young batman. I actually really like Bruce Greenwood as Batman too but his voice is also to old. Maybe Rino Romano could have done but it seems like McKenzie has done a good job.
I'm probably the only one who thinks that ben mckenzie was a great choice. His voice is vulnerable and soft, yet stern which I think fits this batman story.
@Hellriper12 That was really awesome and those are extremely minor differences. Co-Director Sam Liu explained that script writer Tab Murphy had taken out Dent from the script thinking that the Dent scene would make the film too long for the time requirements, but when they made the film, it came out to be too short, so they ended up adding Dent's scene. Most of this dialogue is verbatim from the comic book and the animation is impressively faithful to the comic book, down to the clothes, etc.
@thecooooolcat sorry dude, but I have to respectfully disagree. I'm not getting engage by this clip or the trailer, and I don't think they are being faithful, I don't like how some dialogs , the internal monologue and the little details of the scenes are being changed or completely missing because it takes away from the narrative which was what made Year one so good in the first place.
the animation seem rough and Im not feeling the atmosphere (but maybe that was the trailer's fault º . º )
@Hellriper12 To each his own. I am engaged and excited by this clip, and they are being very faithful, much more faithful than any Batman film ever made before. James Gordon's and Bruce Wayne's internal monologues are there in the film as well and was heard in a preview .
This animation here is impressive, atmospheric, with the fire moving, the reflection of the flame, the shades of lighting, the shadows, the swirling smoke, the silhouette of Batman endowing him with that air of mystery, etc.
@thecooooolcat i dont know if its more faithful than any other batman film, don't get me wrong it looks good but "under the Red Hood" is an excellent movie... hopefully this one will match or surpass its predecessor
@Hellriper12 I've seen it, and it is an extremely great adaptation of the source material. The focus of the story is kept on Gordon and the dialogue is kept very much intact. Granted its not an exact panel by panel adaptation, but its as close as you're going to get. If you're expecting that for every single adaptation for every source ever, then prepare to hate every adapted material from this day forward if you don't like this adaptation. Look at it on its own terms.
@oneangryhermit Going with Kevin Conroy for Frank Miller's Batman would have been a big mistake. Kevin Conroy already voiced his own Batman's version of Year One in Alan Burnett's Batman: Mask of the Phantasm. Frank Miller's Batman: Year One is very different than that, different origin, different Batman. Frank Miller's Batman is different, the voice should be different. It's a way of confirming that this features a different version of Batman.
Bet the room smelled something fierce due to all those folks crapping their pants at once.

Is anyone else reminded of the scene from Punisher 2? Where Punisher crashes the criminals' dinner?

*sigh* Jensen Ackles as Jason Todd sounded more badass than Benjamin McKenzie.
I really wish they'd gotten somebody else. Otherwise this looks awesome. It's my favourite Batman comic besides 'The Killing Joke'.

well... that was really dull, the panels sequence is wrong and it was Dent who was pushing internal affairs not Gordon
