  • well sir, I love your flag! Molon Labe!

  • It is available from Seven Brothers Mercantile (sevenbros-dot-com) for only $4.99. Measures 3x5 feet with 2 grommets. Search for "M4 Come and Take It Flag", item number fsh-m4. We have no financial interest, it's just a cool flag that everyone should own.

  • First thing that happened when I got it back and pulled it out of the box was the rear sight fell off (not a big deal but... really?), then I went to test the magazine capacity: still only holds 6 shells. I wonder if it still jams all of the time.

  • Keep us posted on how it shoots.

    Jeff

  • xD where god intended it to be. nice. awesome gun.

  • looks like mossberg bought a remingotn 1100, changed it cosmetically and put their name on it.

  • Thumbs up video,

    Thanks!

  • awesome.

  • @Gunblastdotcom What do you think about Remington Nitro Steel Magnum for home defense?

  • I suppose that it would work very well, but I have no experience with that ammo. With a 12 gauge, just about anything fired from the bore at close range will be effective.

    jeff

  • You can ghost load it to hold 7+1+1

  • @NWguy83 yes

  • Jeff, thanks again for a great video.

  • question about reflex sight. does it need tobe always exsposed to light to work? I mean if it is under bed or in closet and is pulled out at night with lights off does dot work? I have a watch that glows without batteries but it needs tobe in light first. and then losses power the longer it is in the dark

  • No - it is augmented by fiber-optics for high-light conditions, but it is powered by a bit of Tritium. It's always on, 100% reliable, and never needs batteries.

  • @TigerG2 how do I do that?

  • Hey Jeff! This shotgun is awesome, I also heard that this gun beat the bennelli m4 super 90 for the Marines new tactical shotgun. The other guy down there seemed to have gotten a bad one. Which is odd because that's the first complaint I've seen on this tactical shotgun. It's really well built and mossberg makes great shotguns. One of my first cheap 12g was a mossberg maverick model 88 and it's a great gun too, holds 7+1

  • Thanks Jeff. I won't clog up your comments with any more complaints about this gun.

  • It doesn't bother me any. Keep us posted on how Mossberg handles this problem.

    Jeff

  • @1s1t1e1v1e1 can you message me the problems you have had?

  • @ muddstrosity your damn right I'm being a crybaby, I got burned bad on this gun. I was just trying to let people who watch this video know that this gun is not all that it is talked up to be. If you read my comments, you would have read that I did call mossberg and the thing still doesn't function worth crap. If he doesn't want me having the right to speak he should disable the comments.

  • You have the right to give your view, just as everyone else. Seems like you definitely got a bad one. A gun should work as intended. That is not too much to ask. Keep pestering Mossberg until they make it right.

    Jeff

  • Hey Jeff

Do you know if the Picatinny rail is removable? If someone wanted to put a slug barrel on with cantilever scope rail I was thinking it may not clear the factory picatinny rail, which is mounted onto the receiver. A non cantilever barrel would have that issue. But it would be very desirable for the Picatinny rail to come off. Also if gun was dropped or bumped into something, the rail could be damaged. So it would be nice if it is replaceable/removable.

  • The rail is attached with screws, and is easily removed.

    jeff

  • Ok i want to buy this gun and your the man for my question how do you think it would cycle less lethal rounds? Bean bags Plastic rockets etc..? Please reply soon as possible.

  • I have no experience at all with that type of ammo. If I have to shoot someone, it will be final. I have no need for less-lethal weapons. The thug either needs shooting or he doesn't. There is no middle ground.

    Jeff

  • @Gunblastdotcom well in communist maryland if someone breaks in your home and they don't have a weapon visible you will most likely be charged with murder or something along those lines if you shoot at them to protect your life, they rather you run and hide and wait 30 minutes for the police to arrive. Or if someone broke into my car i can't put a slug into them but a bean bag to the chest would suffice. But i bought the shotgun anyway and i love it haven't shot it yet tho.

  • can't wait to get one.. Gonna get a 28" barrel too and double it as a trap gun..

  • 9:45 My favorite part of this video! Loved it.

  • Do they make a titanium mag tube out there to put on this gun?

  • Great video as always....short, right to the point and very informative!!!

  • Man do I love your vidz!!

I have a 930 SPX on order right now!

    Sweet video man

  • I am extremely upset at the money I have spent and time on the phone with mossberg trying to fix all of these problems. I received replacement parts for the sling problem and for the magazine capacity issue but the capacity issue still remains and the new fore grip they sent me isn't even drilled for the sling swivel mount. I am at the end of my fuse and want a full refund for this pile of garbage.

  • Take it back and get a refund. A new weapon should be 100 percent reliable. That is not too much to ask. It is a good design, but you obviously got a bad one.

    Jeff

  • @1s1t1e1v1e1 What are you thinking, that Jeff Quinn is a Mossberg customer service rep? Stop being a crybaby and call Mossberg.

  • I thought this looked like a quality gun however after I bought one I was extremely disappointed. First it is advertised as holding "7+1", 2 3/4 shells but it only holds 6+1. Second the sling swivel mount on the fore grip was completely stripped out. Third and most importantly it does not cycle any ammo I have tried properly, and I have tried a lot of brands and types). And finally it shoots far right even with the sight adjusted to the max. I am extremely upset at the money I have spent tryin

  • nice good luck with you eye man you fan

    -Gonzalo:)

  • Cool Video, Thanks

  • Jeff, you rock man. thanks for all the reviews. hope your eye gets fixed up. god bless

  • Jeff, will it be possible to attach a rifled barrel for slug hunting w/ this Mossy shotgun ?

    Appreciate your feedback.

I really enjoy your videos. Very informative

  • I apologize for the delay in answering. I have been away at SHOT with no access to my email.

    Yes, that is possible.

    Jeff

  • My trigger group is loose and it rattles. any one else have this issue with their 930spx.

  • Make em wish he stayed home and smoked crack all day lmfao

  • I wish more scumbag criminals stay home and smoke crack more often! Great review!

  • Jeff, you have the best gun reviews videos on YouTube. And I like that you talk about the Trijicon as well. Very succinct and useful reporting.

  • Thank you, Sir. Tell your friends!

    Jeff

  • You sold me crap!! Good salesmanshi

  • I do not sell anything.

    Jeff

  • @Gunblastdotcom I am looking at the 930 alot lately and am seriously considering it because I need an autoloader/self defense shotgun. I am wondering about the pistol grip stock though. Is it sturdy? It appears very narrow in one section. Just wondering about how solid a feel the stock has. Thanks.

  • Very solid and durable. I would not worry about the stock at all.

    jeff

  • @Gunblastdotcom OK, thanks Jeff.

  • Price of crap!! Buy a pump

  • Can you be a bit more specific on your experience with the 930 SPX, please. When did you buy yours, and what was the problem with it?

    Jeff

  • 6+1

  • I like how he details this video toward "home security" rather than hunting deer, this guys the man

  • The 930 spx is advertised a "8+1", however I cant fit 7+1. Does anyone know why?

  • Lord Bless you Sir, great video, great shotgun too. I love my 930 also. :) Happy New Year.

  • Thank you, sir! Happy New Year to you as well.

  • Hey, like the video. Do you feel like the pistol grip helps with recoil more than a traditional grip?

  • I do not, but it does give much better control of the shotgun for one-handed use.

    jeff

  • Jeff, That comment "Make him wish he stayed home and smoked crack all day, instead of going to work" was frickin' HILLARIOUS!

  • Hey great video. I've never thought about using it, but bird shot would be lethal at close ranges? (inside the house)

  • you"r the only person that agree"s with me on bird shot for home defense ! thanks for the common sense vid"s , keep up the good work !

  • Love the channel, and i looooooooove Mossberg, and i completely agree, Mossberg has an ingenious safety design, that pistol grip stock looks really nice, i got a 500 Persuader, i need to get me one of the sights you had or some ghost rings to go with that stock, hopefully Santa will bring it to me, happy holidays and god bless.

  • Thanks for another great video, Jeff! A few weeks ago, my little boy walks by when I'm watching one of your other videos and he asked me, "Daddy, why is Santa carrying a gun?" I told him it was to keep all of his presents safe! Happy Holidays!

  • That's a good one! Merry Christmas.

  • SEXXXY!!!!

  • Great video, what kind of sling is that on the trusty old 590?

  • Just a nylon shotgun bandolier I got at a gun show.

    Jeff

  • Hey Jeff, great review!!! Also I'd like to share something Ive found out concerning the sling on your 590. I like it and use one but have found that if you turn it around with the shells closer to the butt, it makes the muzzle feel alot lighter, and you get less pendulum effect.

(for those wondering pendulum effect is when the sling swings with the weight of the shells it pulls the gun back and forth slightly)

  • 9:42 i have got to hangout with this guy..

  • BEST BEARD EVER!!!!

  • I'm sold.

  • Thanks Jeff ...Remington or Mossberg American all the way !!!

  • doesn't the B.A.C. stand for the bindon aiming concept which is trijicon, but refers to the use of both eyes open during aining to allow a wider field of view for aiming?

  • It does, but Trijicon now also uses it to refer to the fiber-optic rod illumination system.

    jeff

  • Another really good vid, keep them going. Its good to hear you mention birdshot for home deffense, as alot of people under estimate what it can do within the confines of your house. You deffinatley wouldnt want to get hit by that, looking at how tight the spread was. Also your beard is very cool.

  • YA 40000 VIEW!!!

  • God Love Ya Jeff!

    God Bless Ya Jeff!!

    Keep Up the Great Work!

My Favorite Comment "Where God Meant it to be!" and I am right handed!

Thanks for ALL! You do Jeff!

  • I love your last comment.

Make him wish he stayed home and smoke crack all day, rather than go to work!

    Awesome!

    Thank you.

I love that gun. I'm getting one!

  • long live the 2nd Amendment

  • That stock is UGLY.

  • @cardiacthapoet Yeah, I like the classic stocks on a shotgun too.

  • good stuff.Bro have you done a heavy fire testing on the spx..? I am considering purchasing the SPX also. Thanks

  • I have done no further testing since the review.

    jeff

  • TY

  • great video jeff, as a fellow left handed shooter and mossberg fan, i absolutely agree with you about the placement of the safety on the mossy, its as natural as a mothers love, and when my 590A1 comes to shoulder all the nessacary actions come together perfectly, instilling confidence, which is exactly what a defensive firearm should do. thank you sir, Subscribed! and love the beard!

  • The safety is where it should be. Unless you put a pistol grip on the gun. Then the safety is in the worst possible place.

  • @noadmiration I agree. Mossbergs are excellent shotguns............as long as they are in shoulder stock format only.

  • This guy has the best firearm informational video's.

It doesn't matter what firearm you might be thinking of purchasing he probably has a video on that specific firearm. I have made most of my firearm purchases base off the information provided in these video's and have always been happy with my new firearm.

Totally dig the videos, love the killer braids and really appreciate the time you take to provide us with your opinions.

I was going to buy the Mossberg 500 pump until I saw this video, n

  • Glad you like us. Tell your friends!

    jeff

  • @marsh9363: Buy a 500 pump anyway. Best shotgun ever made in my opinion, and can be had so cheap that you don't really have to pick one or the other.

  • Great and informative video. I was thinking about a pump action, but the semi-auto sounds like a better way to go for home defense.

I really liked the comment on the guy would have had a better day if he just stayed at home smoking crack!

  • is that a mossberg 590a1 or normal 590 you showed?

  • Just a 590 with speed-feed stock.

    jeff

  • I just wanted to ask this about shotguns in general. Why are some shotguns unable to shoot light loads while others could shoot heavy and light loads and cycle them perfectly?

  • It is in the design. Some have gas designs that adjust for variations in gas volume, but others do not work as well.

    jeff

  • that's an interesting looking sling on your 590 jeff. what kind is that?

  • idk about 8shot I have been shot with it by accident and it did not penatrate the jacket enough to get to my flesh

  • Outstanding review.

What tactical maneuver do you recommend to sneak one of these past the wife?

  • When you bring it home, leave it in your vehicle until bedtime. Tell your wife to go to bed, and that you will be in soon to give her your love. She will immediately go to sleep, and you can bring the gun into the house without her knowledge.

    Jeff

  • Comment removed

  • @Gunblastdotcom@Gunblastdotcom LOL! Isn't that the truth!! Excellent advice, thanks Jeff.

    Keep up the fantastic reviews-

    Cheers,

    Jim

  • I just wanted to say FUCK YOU JEFF QUIN ! lol just kidding but seriously everytime you do a review I buy one..... got a ranch hand rossi, pk380 and now buying this... damn you are the reason for my economic downfall... not obama lol seriously though... how can you take a piss in the morning not look down and piss in your beard?

  • Some folks say GOLD is a good investment in today's economy. I invest in STEEL.

No problem, the braids lay on either side.

  • Thanks for the great review Jeff. I Have followed you for years and whenever I am looking for a new "toy" I check your reviews FIRST. Oh, and from one aficionado to another, Great beard. Thats a commitment that can be repected.

  • Cool video

  • Would it be a good shot gun for 3-gun comp?

  • I believe that it would. I am not a competitor, but it should serve very well in that role.

    jeff

  • This looks good but I don't know about the reliability on a semi-auto shotgun. I know Mossberg 500 pump-action has great reliability, it's known for it, but I'm hesitant about a semi-auto shotgun. Anyone shed some light on this? It's an important issue because this kind of piece is for home invasion situations.

  • They are very reliable, as reliable as a semi-auto handgun, which is trusted worldwide. Buy with confidence, and use quality ammo.

    jeff

  • i have this gun in the waterfowl model and its performed flawlessly for 4yrs in all types of conditions..and i just spray it will clp break free once a year

  • excellent video just got the 930 SPX

  • You put out some great lines. If your duck hunting just go on back to the house. Make him wish he would have stayed home and smoke crack. Glad the eye is good, thanks for the vids.

  • Love the videos Jeff, thanks. Hope that surgery went alright for you.

Getting the lefty Ruger Scout rifle tomorrow. The Leupold Scout scope and Leupold QD rings are waiting for her.

  • Surgery went fine, thanks! That's a great choice.

  • love the flag its beautiful

  • It is available from Seven Brothers Mercantile (sevenbros-dot-com) for only $4.99. Measures 3x5 feet with 2 grommets. Search for "M4 Come and Take It Flag", item number fsh-m4. We have no financial interest, it's just a cool flag that everyone should own.

  • Thank for the gun review and God bless.

  • Also not to down this guy but having pistol grip on a Mossberg is not a good idea IMO. Because of the safety's position you have to change your firing grip to get it on/off safe. Never a good thing especially under stress. I've had mine for about 10 months now and use it in 3 gun competition. Great gun for the price. Have about 2500 rds thru mine now with just a few malfs.

  • I paid $502 for mine. Caveat Emptor, earlier models have had problems such as a canted front sight. If anyone needs further details on this just let me know.

  • just so you know if u ghost load you can have 9 shell loaded

7in the tube one under the action plus 1 in the tube

  • Great review, i wanted a 930spx but got a great deal on a 590.....What are the extras you have on your 590, also what the place you said has good ammo prices?

  • Luckygunner-dot-com on the ammo.

    I have a speedfeed stock and a shell-holder sling on my 590.

    Jeff

  • that's the kind of shotgun I need for social work

  • Sorry to hear about your eye. I wil pray and ask that God would guide the Dr"s hand.

  • Thank you, it's doing much better.

  • Hi Jeff

How much does the 930 spx cost?

  • Current MSRP is $807. Actual price will be substantially lower.

  • @MadHockeyStuff Fuck you. FPS russia isnt even a real russian and knows nothing about firearms or firearms safety. I watch his videos because they are entertaining. i watch these to be informed

  • @freeheretic111 your welcome

  • +100000000000000000000 for the ambi safety. they need to make it so we can have 16in barrel shotguns

  • Gas-operated softens the recoil considerably? Doesn't that mean that the muzzle velocity is reduced? Seems to me that it would reduce firepower. Granted, at close range the crook isn't really going to notice the difference, but the pump-action would pack more punch.

  • It does not. The gas operation does not lessen recoil. However, it does lessen perceived recoil, as the recoil impulse is spread over a longer period, making the shotgun hitting the shoulder more of a push than a hit. I have fired from a pump and an auto over the chronograph, and there is no difference in the speed of the shot.

    Jeff

  • @Gunblastdotcom

Huh, didn't think of it that way. Thanks for the clarification.

  • sure makes me want to smoke crack instead of robbing him

  • @freeheretic111 The Model 590A1 has an aluminum trigger guard and safety, and a heavier barrel, intended for use under extreme conditions and rough handling .The primary difference between the Model 500 and Model 590 is in magazine tube design.

  • I'd like to see mossberg make a detachable box magazine version of this weapon to counter the saiga series

  • @SimpleDanForever I have wished the same thing for a while, but If it is legal in your state they have somthing you might be interested in do a search for XRAIL Systems xrailbyrci. com

  • thanks Jeff, now i plan on getting one for my next purchase!!!! my first shotgun was a 500 cruser and love it!!!!

  • The 590 has a metal safety button, instead of plastic, but other than that, I do not know.

    Jeff

  • Just shot that today and it was fucking awesome!

  • The best bang for your buck, great review!

  • I love the comment about staying home and smoking crack! Great vid

  • is it made in USA ?

  • Yes it is.

    Jeff

  • @Gunblastdotcom

    Jeff,

Have you ever ghost loaded a 2.75 shell on top of the extractor? You can hold 8+1 that way and when I did it to a 930 it was completely reliable.

  • It works, and I have done it, but as a matter of practice, I just load it normally.

    Jeff

  • DICK's Sporting Goods near me has it for $650 is that a fair price?

  • They need to make a stock for shotguns that mimics fully auto like that ar stock :D

  • I love that last comment, except the problem is he is going to work so that he can buy the crack.

  • Jeff what's your opinion of copper plated bird loads for indoors? (as opposed to lead non-plated)

  • the saftey where god intended it to be

  • Good review. I love my 930. The only complaint is that sometimes my finger gets caught by the little latch as you load the rounds. Other than that no complaints.

  • stay home and smoke crack lol

  • make him wish he'd stayed home and smoked crack all day, HAHAHAHA hilarious!!

  • Damn it! Now I want a 930.....

  • You made up my mind for the next one. Thanks

  • HAHAHAHA "Make him wish he stayed home and smoked crack all day"

  • Good video. I was thinking about the 930 but with a really bad back I didn't know what to do. I was thinking about a 410 at one time., but after your video I went with the 930. I was told it should be in next week (can't wait) Thanks again.

    Buzz

  • Nice....Great video Brother ;-)

  • Jeff - The pistol grip looks hollow on the video. Is it? Thanks and I enjoy all the reviews!

  • It is hollow.

    Jeff

  • mossburg great live right near them hope to get 500 if icould would get htis model but i know they can cost upwards 900 or more very nice love the 930

  • I love it, Jeff. "Make him wish he had sat home and smoked crack all day." Priceless. On another note, hope all is well with your eye surgery coming up.

  • I have the 930 tactical with a heat shield.

  • Birdshot is not an effective load against humans.

  • @BillyBadasssssss The reason for birdshot is to prevent over penetration in walls. A full choke bird shot load can take fingers off and create some very nasty shallow wounds which will stop an intruder. Another thing that bird shot does is reduce the show of intent to kill. The intent to kill is sometimes used to punish the victim in certain situations and in certain states. The less intent of self defense that you show the better off you are in the legal aftermath of a home invasion.

  • @fywacia

You are out of your mind. (and out of your element) The intent of self defense is to STOP, not kill. (just as it is with law enforcement) Birdshot has nowhere near the minimum penetration to be an effective manstopper. These are the facts, and no amount of imagineering on your part will change them.

  • @BillyBadasssssss If you shoot an intruder in the hand with a birdshot load it's going to stop him verses killing him. On the one hand you say that bird shot won't stop an intruder, so that leaves a slug or buckshot. If you hit them with either of those chances are, they will be dead. My intent would be to stop someone, not kill them. That's why birdshot is a good choice. If I want to kill them then buckshot would be a good choice.
